LeMans as a model name makes more sense for the upcoming hypercar as it’s based on the platform that won LeMans.

If you already knew then why did you issue such a dopey challenge (very condescendingly I might add) to the other member which was so easily proven wrong?

Re “America” - I think even the word has Italian origins.

Ferrari has used this in several cars over the years.

How about something that pays homage to racing in America

Like I said, America is like calling it the Earth or Europe. It is too general. California and Daytona are specific references. That is my point.
And that it should be an Italian reference of course too.

812 GTS made the first step towards a heritage inspired design by delivering the concept, an open top V12

F167 should drive it home aesthetically

Here is a VERY strong contender in my opinion ( and I realize that I may possibly not be the first member to float this candidate )

The name that would make the most sense putting everything together including historical front engined V12 names, where it’s being introduced and the fact that it is the successor to the Superfast is:

    Superamerica

Speciale and Pista Spider are Versione Speciale. So is the 360 CS. None of these are regular production cars. Thank you for your contribution.

Yawn… I guess you haven’t read any of the discussion. Plenty of Ferrari’s with ‘America’ in the name. Without the USA market Ferrari may not be around today.

Agree, America has a strong historical reference with the brand. I think the post above about this being less about the location and more about the event is super interesting. Daytona does hit both location and racing. I would love that to he name and I know it’s been used recently but I would still take it in a heartbeat.

I missed that. In fact I don’t even see it 40 posts ago.

    It was a joke! [emoji4]

It‘s unlikely they would use this name, that’s for sure.

If it were not for the SP3, Daytona would be at the top of the leader board for probable names. However the SP3 not only exists, it is still in active production and I think it’s safe to say that takes it off the table.

How about the 850 MM for Mille Miglia?

Yes MM already taken like Daytona to which would have easily been the numero uno choice...

I'm still sticking with my 850/865 Cavallino a special name for a special car.

very, very nice name, but, again , more appropriate for "LaFerrari" ;) successor.
Hope they use it in future.

I was not going to have a guess but how about "Daytona 825 " 825 being the bhp, that's a guess as well

Ferrari would never name a car based on brake horsepower (bhp). It would have to be based on cavallo vapore (cv).
