Belgravia Books does not stock any of these motoring titles. All of them are in possession of the owner, BB has them on consignment and will not send them out of the UK.

That’s interesting. So the book is on consignment. What’s the motivation for not exporting? They’re severely limiting the population of potential buyers, which seems counterproductive…especially at that price.

According to BB the cost of customs could be up to 20% of the price of the book. Any potential buyer should contact BB, after which BB could establish a contact with the owner to discuss the issue.

Not a bargain but as mentioned prior a good reader.

Just as a comparison I bought my mint copy, low number, in the original box and wrapping around 4 years ago for approximately 1,800 UK.

Sold for 732 euros before fees - I did not go that far (for the record, estimate was 550-650).
I wonder if that will set a new benchmark (although, as stated, the slipcase was damaged) - there are many copies that have been for sale for months, looking (with no success) to two to three times that price.

It is well known that the difference between a mint copy and a well used-, or damaged copy of any collectible book (or any other artefact) can be many multiples.

In this case, it seems the multiples are between copies that sell and copies that don't.

Who knows, but I doubt you’d be able to buy a mint copy for €700,-.

I just picked up #554 (blue cloth with slipcase) and VG/EX condition. Reasonable price and thrilled to have it at last! It came via an estate sale in Mississippi.

Via a small, independent, used book dealer who bought the entire collection of motor books as a lot from the estate and offered it to me. He knew I had been looking.

Do you know if there’s anything left that’s Ferrari related?

Thank you, I hope the accolades are deserved! It is an extraordinary book and what I really admire is that the story is told linearly from the perspective of the photographs and not from that of the strict chronology of the events, personalities or series, It is very much a collection of vignettes and back stories captured through the talented eye of Geoff Goddard. Historically, it is an ENORMOUSLY important work. I get what all of you have been saying now!

Your description is most accurate. Even after almost 30 years since its publication, I’ve not been able to find anything similar. I hope that you treasure it for a long time.

I could ask him ... my recollection is not much, maybe 2-3 Haynes titles.

    Only your third book purchase.

Just know that every other Ferrari book you buy currently will not be as truely amazing as FIC.
