Btw, Daytona was not an official name given by Ferrari to the 365GTB:
    Source: Ferrari 365 GTB4 (1968) - Ferrari.com

But Ferrari has re-used official names already:
Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder -> Ferrari California (2008)

So if they were going to use a city name I wouldn't rule out Daytona. What other American city has relevance to Ferrari? Ferrari won races at Daytona, and is unveiling F167 at the Miami GP (both cities are in Florida...)

    F12: 740 PS
    F12 TDF: 780PS
    812: 800PS
    812C: 830PS
    F167: 850-865PS?

    If actual hp figure:
    850/865 (GTB) Daytona
One issue with using the power figure in the name is that it would complicate naming the VS version (which usually has more power...)

    Other potential number references:
First number could be 9 to represent 9000rpm (912 Daytona?)
Second and third number could represent engine displacement. Currently 6.5L, but could go up to 6.6-7.0L

Btw, I have no inside info, this is just speculation.

My best guess is still 865 GTB4 and you heard it first from me a couple of weeks back. US city name not happening, but if any, it had to be Miami. Daytona just used for SP3, it's 100% no go for F167.

It will be interesting to see if it incorporates a rear deck lid styling solution similar to that of the 296.

This would allow them to incorporate the most popular feature on the 812 GTS into even the coupe version … of course I’m taking about the rear cockpit window that goes up and down! :)

Its been said the back window is small and Ferrari are doing something they have not done for sometime. Look at the back window of the NART daytona, F50, 355 style

Does anyone know what color the first 365GTB/4 show car was? Yellow/green is such an unusual color that it makes me think it might be a nod to one of their prior show cars so if the original show "Daytona" was yellow it might make a stronger case for 865GTB4/Daytona being the name especially with the Daytona styling cues.

Alternatively, does anyone know of any other prior show cars that match a similar colorway to what has been described?

The first 1968 365 GTB/4 was red and appeared in Paris and London among other places. The first Fly Yellow Daytona showcar was a 1969 convertible.
Yellow green was a color combination for a Mrs. Day who bought a (1954?) Fly Yellow Ferrari 375 MM racer that Enzo didn't think was appropriate for a woman to drive. So he instructed the racer should be built with a green leather interior or so the story goes.
Yellow green coincidentally is how you might describe the current C8 Corvette yellow. The green is quite prominent in the new Corvette yellow color which previously was best described as a pure yellow.

I've gotten the sense that when people say greenish yellow, they're saying a yellow that shows green tones in certain light. But still yellow, not, say, chartreuse. Am I interpreting that correctly?

How about the name 865 NART, a nod to the 365 GTB/4 and the NART.

I thought 865 (has a nice ring) NART for the spider too, But your average person has no idea what it means… There is a supposedly been several attempts to make some sort of connection to this important part of Ferrari history, but the parties evolved couldn’t reach an agreement…there’s threads and anecdotes…
