This looks perfect! But doesn't look like it supports android auto... if anyone that has installed can confirm that would be great! Sent from my SM-S906U1 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Looks like it’s sold out everywhere. Thanks a lot to all the s2000 jerks that apparently snapped up all the available inventory lol! If anyone bought one that they’re not gonna use, I’ll buy it off you! I want it for my e36 M3!
Hey Scott, I just picked one up today for my buddy at a store here in North Phoenix. I couldn’t find them online anywhere so I just drove over to the store and sure enough they had 3 of them on the shelf……so if a store is close maybe run over and take a look. Or call and have someone look for you. They are in the automotive section in a locked cabinet next to all the audio stuff.
Does the new radio get power through this harness as well as audio, or is another adapter cable needed? Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
You need some type of harness so you don’t have to cut or alter the stock wiring. new radio harness —> aftermarket harness —> stock wiring harness it appears that depending on your cars setup (standard, HiFi, Bose) you may need one of two harnesses. I have the HiFi system in my car and this is the harness I use: https://scuderiaaudio.com/product/head-unit-wiring-harness/ Once that’s wired up to the new radio harness it gets plugged into the stock wiring and you’re done for sound, power, etc.
All local Walmart stores sold out of this overnight in my area. The good news is that they are available again as of this morning on Walmart's website.
Which HiFi does your car have? The Bose system or the non-Bose HiFi? I think you have a 2008, correct?
Nice @Oengus! Very curious how it sounds! Also, can you share the exact harness you sourced to get this to work in a scud? I just bought two so I may end up putting one in my old ratty m3 and my scud!
It sounds way better than my Somy….actually sounds really good. I just used the harness that was used to hook up the Sony…….i honestly don’t recall which one it is………sorry
The $9 wiring harness adapter from eBay works just as well. This is a pretty common wiring adapter for lots of different cars. https://www.ebay.com/itm/401651295201?itmmeta=01HVPKE1MPN2299KE50NEXJ84X&hash=item5d844863e1:g:ZMEAAOSwE6djfa-e&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA4EmDY8wI62GyoJh622kNuj39T%2BuJdEPlbp44nQplPdocpyEl5VaNl%2FZWA3z4%2FkvUhtuLZ1cHflwl0GIE5tKiPIKv3DYao0fGzScFXZZ8G%2FHV8FHs2z3p77wDcJ9%2B6pH6b%2BFZIxSi4573jIVGn2aFKTt%2FzIK17JdirzoNlKEhVXIbQ0PKg%2F4ckjGeoy3cL0ZCnz6EEvP1N%2Bvs7VMUL32BuvF0Oxm%2B5chCt2hUjsyUkFzbS2hEWKsx23CCe9OfU1Ch1ujO7FCO9ZAYoHOABLNsXF2lq%2Fu03amF7aFSjl71J0o%2F%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR7SauNPdYw

Great! Thanks all. I was just curious at the scud set up is a bit different with a no bose, no hi-fi, no frills at all kind of sound system, so just wanted to make sure I got the right harness.
Did you end up disabling the "locking tabs" in the cradle? It looks like you still have the release pin covers in the deck - trying to decide whether to: 1. Leave it all and deal with it when I go to remove it. 2. Remove the pin covers now 3. Disable the locking mechanism to keep the deck in...?
I left them as is. The fit is perfect….much better/cleaner than the two Sony units I had prior. Not to mention extremely friendly user interface! the Sony was a ***** to operate
If you go for 3, how would you get the deck out when it was time? I would just leave it and deal with it when it was time to remove it.
Well I guess I'm stuck as I have the Bose. I'd love to put something like this in and put the Becker away for the future.
How does that work? The aftermarket radio uses RCA line level to drive the Bose amp and the speakers? I thought it was digital from the radio to the Bose? Is it really analog?
If I went for #3 - the issue would be that I could possibly "too easy" remove it, as it would just be held in by friction, rather than the tabs. But - I think you're right - just install it, hope I don't need to remove it, then bust out those pin covers when the time comes My wiring harness arrived today, so will slap mine in tonight. Can't believe I'm excited about a no-name $140 Walmart head unit in my Ferrari! Ha! I owned a custom audio shop back in the day - this feels like a painful route to go! haha
