And this is why, I believe, the 360 was designed with a clean sheet of paper. No more finicky adjustments, no more "engine out" for simple maintenance, and attention to quality in every detail were all in an effort to shed the idea that a Ferrari is not a car you can drive daily. Since then, I believe the introduction of 360 and all subsequent models have been a new breed of stallions.
We have an '03 TDF Blue w/Tan F1 360 Spider here, absolutely love the car. I always heard that it's not IF the top will fail, but WHEN! And after 3 years of ownership, it recently failed. I rarely put the top up anymore. And just last weekend, headed to a local Ferrari car show and the battery light came on. Car drove fine but when I went to leave, car was totally dead, had to call a flatbed. All the other cars were gone by then so I didnt have to hide my head in shame! Turns out the alt failed, so a new one is ordered [$700] along with a new battery [$400]. It's a 20+ yr old car, this could happen to any other car. We also have a 997 Turbo S, have only had it a year but never an issue. It is by far, a better shifting, fast car but it [kinda] looks like so many other Porsches out there. I love the attention the 360 receives, it has such a gorgeous body, I cant wait to drive it on Friday!! That said, even though I was recently stranded, yes, I trust it.
Sorry to hear that but best to move on and get what you want. Life is short. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I understand your decision. A 911 is like a loving wife, ready to play at a moment's notice. A Ferrari is a lady who needs to be wined and dined, and some foreplay to get her in the proper mood.
