I think Lexus actually got it right with the moving tachometer in the LC500; it would be awesome to have an analogue tachometer that moved to accommodate different display configurations.

I Believe Ferrari should offer an Exotic model above the Halo model for 99 - 199 units.

Unfortunately the same customers, VVIP’s, are the ones who continue to qualify for all of the specials regardless of someone else’s financial means.

Is that correct? You have to pay for an electronic feature to change the color? Awfully Tesla like. I really don’t like that sort of line item pricing.

Is the car still expected to be announced around the end of this month / early next month or has that been delayed? Marcel a few months confirmed a launch in Miami, and I myself heard that as well from a few sources.

    Thank you!
Apologies I haven’t been following the thread recently. Is the confidence that the car will be NA V12 still high?

    I think you are correct.

    Ferrari says of Icona:

As to an analog gauge with digital dash, the Lexus LFA has this as well.

Well, you choose one tach color on the PS. I was told you can change it at the dealer, likely for a fee.

    Why “unfortunately”?
That group of clients have bought everything the factory has produced for many years and maintain large collections of Ferraris.
Isn’t it fair that they get priority on these models?

Every company wants to attract new customers but prioritizes its special allocations for those customers that are loyal to the brand and support it through their purchases. The “someone elses with financial means” you refer to can join the group of clients that qualify for special models by building their purchase history

I’m sure many of you have sat in a pagani or detomaso and seen how gorgeous the dashboard is. A 12 cylinder Ferrari exudes elegance and speed, so why should it have an iPad as a dashboard? Of course it’s all about profit and stock price, but who would complain about $10k more for a beautiful dashboard to match the rest of the car? We spend a minimum of $100k on options up to $200k, so why not give us an option to have a dash that matches the essence of a v12 especially if it’s the last one?

From what I understand changes to the dash gauges does not require homologation, do you have a reference?

From Ferrari's perspective, it is a way to earn more, common platforms for many items, re-use as much as possible between models...Look at the 812C, from what I have seen it did not receive a new rev counter with higher limit...instead it has the same one in an 812SF

When we did TM for our Lusso we werent allowed to use TM leather on the dashboard becasue it wasnt homologated, so I think its safe to assume it would be the same issue with the dash/tach/etc.

That may be because of the airbags, which presumably wouldn't apply to the gauges. I am only speculating though, I do not know the answer.

Most likely because of color and reflections. I'm suprised they got rosso homologated, it's very reflective and actually bothers me quite a bit. Will get a darker dash for my future cars.

I believe some passenger side front airbags deploy by literally tearing through the leather in the dash. I remember seeing a video showing how the leather was thinner with some perforations on the back (invisible from the front) to ensure that the leather would split as intended if the airbag deployed. I'm not sure if this is how Ferrari's airbags work, but if so, I could imagine this being an issue for un-homologated leathers that haven't been tested. And if the leather is thicker, it might actually be a problem for airbag deployment.

Like I said, I don't know if this is why they wouldn't allow TM leathers on the dash, but that was where I got the idea.

The reason for the dash leather is the airbags. It has to be homologated for use- they won’t do that for all the various leather possibilities. There are still leather color choices available, just fewer in number.

I think Ferrari is making a design decision to avoid a central screen. Maybe they just want to be different or they have other reasons. This would necessitate the use of a screen.

According to news published again today in Italy the names Amalfi and Amalfi Spider are a very strong possibility for the F167. If this becomes the name chosen I think it won't disappoint. :)

My take is that an analog tach will always look like an analog tach. But a digital one will look seriously old in 10-15 years. Not an issue on regular cars, but to me it's an issue on a car some might want to keep a lifetime.

Might just be my imagination but are there some items on the ring outside the rev numbers? If so looks like some items between the 9 and 10 might also be red which might mean less than 10k...
