No, this is not a troll post.

If it were a straight-up trade, would you swap your 328 GTS for a C8 Corvette?

Would your answer change if the C8 becomes the daily driver?

C8 good daily driver. C8 will depreciate more and cost more even counting the 328 major. 328 will last forever, C8 you’ll be looking to trade away within 5 years.

C8's are everywhere. Keep the 328 and get something more suited to being a DD that won't lose so much value. Especially if you are racking up the miles.

Trade for a Corvette? Yes... for a '64-'65 Sting Ray coupe! ;)

A lot of this stuff is about what makes you feel good driving. I bought a new Porsche 911 some years ago because I thought I should have a "modern" sports car. I never bonded with it though I respected its ability. It didn't bother me at all to sell it after a couple of years. But if I had to choose between the C8 and the 328 as my ONLY car, I would choose the C8...or that Porsche 911 :)

Not a chance. C8 is arguably boring to drive.

Seriously? C8’s are everywhere and will be common used cars. The technology will be a joke in 5-10 years.

328 is an icon, arguably a forever car. When you see one on the road, it’s like a celebrity sighting.

    Not a close call, IMHO.

I’ve really bonded with my 911/964. But my 328 is right up there. A dependable Ferrari without an iPad on the dash or video game instrumentation… plus a gated shifter.

    I did ALMOST that.... I sold my 328 and immediately bought a 2002 C5 6-speed manual.

It was horrible!! I felt like I was driving a waterbed. The insane nimbleness and agility of the 328 vs. the aircraft carrier that was the C5... sure it had power and was a full-on convertible but that's where the fun stopped.

    Jedi

[It WASN'T "straight across" though - sold the 328 for $68,500 bought the C5 for $16k]

If the C8 had a manual gearbox = yes (so I guess my answer is no ;)).

I have both. I enjoy the 328 as a treat and the C8 as my daily driver.

The C8 is a really good car. I just drove it round trip Vegas to LA this week and it didn't miss a beat (its a bit wide though for parking). Got everything you want in a modern car -- but no soul.

Now I'm restoring a Fiat Dino Spider to get a treat on top of the treat!

Its such a personal preference thing and they are so different. If you only have 1 parking spot and need whatever you park in it to be a DD but also want a sports car then picking the vette or anything else new(ish) seems a no brainer. I just added a 2022 supra to my garage as a DD for my son and its quite nice.

.....but if is a drive when you want car, then its drive what makes you happy I guess. I've kept the 308 around longer than about anything else in my life so I'm not really sure I could imagine selling it, it just sits there broken most of the time and knowing its there makes me happy. For me a C8 or 328 (308 in my case) its not even an apples/oranges thing, its more like apples and framing nails, just completely different things.

Funny this is brought up... I showed my 328 at the "Texas Corvette Association - Open Car Show yesterday in Boerne, TX. Literally 100+ of Corvettes and an equal number of "others". Most were stunning. BUUUUUUUT... Only 2 Ferraris. A Portofino and my 328. I couldn't believe the traffic I received. Corvettes were walked past and admired. Mine... Tons of people stopped. Looked around and in and took pictures next to it. A lot of smiles. I would buy and enjoy a C8 (ZO6 w/ Z07 pkg), but would never trade.

I wanted to put my car in there but I happened to be in Europe on my 30th anniversary with the wife. I’m in Boerne too with my 308. I heard Theo was another 3x8 out there prowling around. Look me up.

I drive a C8 convertible as my DD and love it, but it still won’t give you the thrill or fun of an Fcar. When I go to the gas station with my C8 people love to smile and talk about it, but when I go with my 458 it’s like the Stones rolled into town.

I don't think this is a realistic enough comparison to make a logical argument either way. Both great cars in their own regard but not remotely in the same ways.

I will say I was underwhelmed with the C8, mainly because of the lack of manual transmission. There is very little driver engagement in normal/legal driving. My favorite sports cars are always the ones I can enjoy without having to go fast. The C8 looks great inside and out, it's comfortable, build quality is excellent, and it is enjoyable to be in and be seen in, but that was about the most enthusiasm I could muster.

I'm in agreement about the C8 convertible as a daily. Really good car with plenty of power, creature comfort, electronic aids and low stress. I pop the top all the time. Pretty reliable as well (but not perfect). Also low maintenance. Very good value for the $$$. Eats up gas though...

But its not a sports car. Its a 2 seat mid engine GT. And lets face it, Ferrari builds a lot of the same today, albeit with a bit more passion, style and quality.

I like the 328 for the drama but I don't want "drama" every time I want to go somewhere. But the C8 is fun to drive and a lot better than most current machines on the road.

from the C8 owners is there any sense it will be like most non-exotic new cars (especially American) with all the cosmetic bits and pieces starting to fall apart 5+ years out? you hardly ever see standard cars 10+ years old anymore.
