How to get obnoxious pops & bangs from my F430 stock exhaust? Can I get this with the ThinkDiag ODB2 tool or do I need to send ECUs to someone?

You mean make it seem like it's running rich? :)

I get a couple of nice raspy ones with my Kline exhaust I've been happy with. I'd start by getting a valve controller so you can bypass the muffler.

This thing pops and bangs naturally with an aftermarket exhaust or with 200 cell sport cats and stock exhaust.

Pops and bangs or downshift burbles. Big difference.

Pops and bangs would be as was said an over rich mix and you will want to change out your stock manifold and cats. You will damage the stock manifold and potentially your engine when you damage the pre-cats in them.

Burbles are easy for aftermarket exhaust even with stock cats. Not sure if stock exhaust with valves open all the time will do that. I never had the stock exhaust installed on my car that way.

Well i think all of us here are all for (beautifull) exhaust noise, but pops n bangs doesnt fall into that category for most car enthousiasts. More the opposite, as it attracts unwanted attention from cops....

Get a V8 vantage with an aftermarket tune. I uploaded a “pops and bangs” map and it literally sounded like packs of firecrackers going off in the muffler on decel… it was good for a single drive and a good laugh before uploading the normal map.

I'm just looking for a little bit, not too much. My Ducati does a nice bang sometimes when I load up the exhaust on decel. Sounds great!

I occasionally get asked to do these kinds of maps on Ferrari's (rather than ones which actually focus on making the car significantly better to drive and be more reliable). Now, I understand the appeal of a burnout for some people, and pops and bangs for show boating, more attention, etc. but this can get real expensive in ways you may not be aware of, and isn't discussed often.

Firstly, it can easily take its toll on many of the cars mechanical components, so unless your a YouTuber doing it for views and can afford to shred expensive tires, wear out suspension, wheel bearings, engine and gearbox parts, including diff rebuilds I would advise to steer clear.

Actually the whole "extreme pops and bangs / flame tune" craze isn't something I recommend for Ferrari owners at all, for reasons of reliability and longevity. Tuners often try to achieve this with some trickery – by delaying the turn off of fuel cut on overrun and/or messing with ignition timing at low load high rpm's fuel isn't burned, so when you back off the throttle at high rpm's it shoots 9-foot flames (on cat-less cars). To some this seems clever but its consequences are not to be sniffed at, all that unburnt fuel ignites in the exhaust and generating a HUGE amounts of additional heat. This extreme heat can warp components, damage seals, and ultimately lead to many different failures. When the heat soaks its way into the heads and other engine parts like valves you can get into a whole heap of trouble - all of which can cause severe engine damage. Not only that if the heat doesn't take out the engine the fuel can also wash away the protective oil film in the cylinders. Over time, that leads to increased bore wear too, another expensive headache down the road. Furthermore if you have a street legal car with cats fitted the extra fuel and heat can also damage them and stop them working which will raise CEL's and require replacements to pass emissions. If the cat cores disintegrate they can be ingested back by the engine and cause catastrophic engine failure too. Is it really worth the risks?

Trust me, these kinds of thing come at a steep mechanical price and its why I won't do them. There are plenty of ways to optimize performance. Its not something I would recommend to do for all of the reasons described above.

Finally, most of these cars already run quite rich anyway so will pop and bang mildly anyway with the right exhaust system and that's due to normal operation and is safe and completely normally (not faked).

Aftermarket headers (catless) and S line exhaust will get you some crackle/pop on overrrun, but more importantly it will sound incredible.

I wouldn't do a tune specifically to produce them because (as Trev highlighted above) it's not good for the car long term. And it's dumb.
