Update: The rain finally let up and the roads dried up. The ABS light went out as soon as I started moving forward like 10ft. New brakes are awesome :)

Thanks for all the help guys!

Thanks for the update... We love happy endings :)

I tried to find more info on brake wear sensors, but the guy mentioned in your photo doesn't elaborate, even in his YouTube video.

Another website shows a graphic similar to the Ferrari diagram

Does the F355 only give a brake warning for low pad thickness when you push the brakes? If I get the chance, I'll try to do a resistance check on the brake wear sensor circuit of my F355, but I'm in the middle of a house move at the moment. I don't think there is a readily accessible connector on the sensor, so I can't disconnect it to see what happens.

I'm not sure what happens when the sensor wears through. I assume the warning light stays illuminated. But that's just it, I've always been under the assumption that the circuit is normally open since the sensor is a one wire sensor, but in this case, resistance should be infinite, not 2000ohms like it says in the Raybestos screenshot. So it would make sense that at once it wears down, it completes the circuit triggering the warning light, but I'm no expert lol

Man alive that was an exhausting read on wear sensors... it's very simple, basically all modern Ferrari's, Maserati's and Alfa utilize a normally open system. Unplug the sensors, throw them in the trash, like every good human should and never get a warning on the dash so long as your plug on the vehicle can't ground out on anything to complete the circuit.

Pretty much every other car in the world with wear sensors do it the opposite way, so if you unplug the sensor, you will get a warning on the dash unless you complete the circuit.

    Brakes look great buddy :)

LOL Ya it is... Thanks for confirming, that's what I've always thought which is why in my original post I said removing the sensors shouldn't have caused the ABS light to trigger.

The ABS went away anyway as soon as I drove forward like 10ft, so problem solved :)

    Thanks!
