I have an older build that needs some touchup on the body. Need paint info that I believe is on the instruction sheet for this model. Would love to acquire a complete instruction sheet or a copy . Any help or suggestions would be great!

I've never heard of a Rosso F1 car, do you mean a Ferrari?

What brand of model is it?

Do you have a photo of the kit?

    Help us help you....

I would really love one of those! I only have it’s baby brother in 1/43. I appreciate that the 1/8 kit is pre painted but
I think this maybe a good start from Zero paints:

    https://www.spotmodel.com/product_info.php?products_id=51919

the instructions in the small kit do stipulate Gunze Mr color code H86.

Have a look at www.ThundervalleyF1.com for detail up parts for wheels, steering, brakes etc. if you are inclined. They have previously had questionable customer service though…

    all the best.

Thunder Valley Paul Raterrnik is pretty much created operations, due to divorce and family problems- do not pay for anything unless you confirm he has it in stock. Great website but nothing has been updated or any new parts have been added for years.

OK folks, as you can tell I am rather new at this scale and in particular the F1 643 car. I thought while I was waiting for my ZERO paint order ( back ordered ) I would attempt to detail the engine. Any suggestions as to a source for wiring and plumbing images for this specific engine? I really want to get this right or as close to a scratch built appearing effort as possible. Again, thanks for the help on the paint code.

Wow! Furman, and all who responded really provided me with the incredible material needed to proceed with this project. This may be a longer time project than had been anticipated, however I now have no reason not to get it right. As the model is already assembled, a plan will be formed and results posted as the rebuild and detailing progresses. Once again, thanks for your time in sharing these resources.

I'll take pics of the build I did of this model. I didn't finish all the detailing but I made some progress. It's a great model.

Still waiting for supplies. Did some work in the cockpit details, temporarily set in for the pics. Now, some more questions. The coolant pipe coming out of the right radiator top outlet appears to just be routed to dump any overflow onto the bottom tray. Is a component missing here? Also the two small rods under the front shocks don't seem to be evident in the reference photos. Function? I realize that there were continuous upgrades, etc. on these, any input on this. I acquired this model assembled without the assembly sheets and in need of refreshing, hence the questions. Again, thanks for the assists and input.

Here is an update on my paint matching quest...my initial search was to match the paint on a Rosso 1/8 643. Eventually sourced some paint from SpotModel specific to the F1 641, 642, 643. This has a little more orange tint than the painted factory Rosso. The close match to the painted Rosso is a Tamiya red. Now considering respraying the body with the SpotModel color for authenticity. Here are reference numbers for anyone who needs them :
SpotModel 2004 Rosso part number ZP-1007/30 Tamiya X-7 red

Is the original paint on the model in good condition? If it is I would suggest not repainting it but this is your model to do as you please. Tamiya's rattle can X-7 ain't bad but it has a translucency to it and it will probably take more than a few coats to get right. Consider priming with pink primer before painting with the Tamiya red.

Also Zero paints makes a good selection of colors. Not sure if they are still in business but the might be worth a try.

Zero are still in business but some of their dealers need to stop even claiming to carry the line when they have almost none in stock at any given time. A few places that claim to be Zero dealers are not, at least not according to Zero themselves.
BTW, for those who don't know, Zero and other model paints that offer matches to actual automotive colors are nothing more than repackaged automotive paints often from Lechler in Italy.
