Exactly. Ferrari actually target a more rearward weight bias for, among other reasons, better traction. They partly achieve this by locating the engine as far aft as possible which has the added benefit of maintaining the engine CG within the wheelbase and so keeping polar moment of inertia low for better turning response.

I think the 812 seating position is less friendly to parking lot manuevers vs a Mercedes S class, which is really a lovely daily car.

I also think the change in the wheelbase, unless it’s truly a huge difference, is about tweaking the handling, and this likely is in conjunction with the new independent RWS.

They always make improvements from one generation to the next - I would imagine this will be no different. Looking forward to learning more!

There are only 3 days left until the reveal and what I want is for the F167 in terms of design to live up to the great expectations we all have. In terms of performance, we already know in advance that it will be superior to that of its predecessor 812 SF but the doubt remains as to how close it will be to that of the 812 Competizione.
In the past few days Ferrari has been intensively testing the F167 and here's a collection of some of the prototype mules someone photographed last week driving around Maranello.

I just want it to rev higher, sound better, and look good. And work every time.

Interestingly, this is the first time that an F167 prototype uses TDF wheels. The prototype with the blue tapes.

For me - and I'm not a buyer for this car, but still highly interested - I just want it to be beautiful. I want it to be something I can stare at, over and over, and be mesmerized. Something that causes me to smile in awe, and that has me saying, "NICE job, Ferrari!" I know the performance will be there...but I want Ferrari to catch that smoke in a bottle...a jaw-dropping design which will be admired for decades.

Like your thinking. I’d like that plus cars that are smaller and more nimble with less tech just to hold them on the road. As pointed out earlier, the F12 and 812 are big cars. Tech like the active suspension for the Purosangue is probably amazing but it comes at a price - both weight and complexity.

based from the salesman I spoke to, Ferrari retained the V12 so we can expect the screaming high rev of it but unsure it there will be some sort of hybridization. It'll be launched in Miami

That sales man you spoke to that's saying he is unsure of any hybridization sounds very suspicious ... it has been known for a while that it will be pure NA so if he is saying he is unsure clearly he isn't well informed to be my Ferrari salesman; I'm just saying. That wouldn't be someone that I would trust when I'm spending over half a million dollars

Welcome to the discussion and thanks for your input although what you mention has been already covered to great extents. No hybrid V12 and yes, eyes set in Miami since few months back.

Truly hard to believe that Ferrari has been successful at keeping the 812 replacement hidden under fake body panels and covers prior to their weekend's reveal
There must be a Luca Brazzi effect at the factory. Bravo for the secrecy.

We must give them credit for pulling this a top secret but I reckon a leak will be out the day before unveiling. I predict that Shmee will have a video uploaded on youtube of the unveil before Ferrari does

Awaiting the reveal with nervous excitement. I love the cars and specs I have. Haha I simply don’t have the room to add another horse unless I got rid of the family cars and also don’t want to part ways with these specs I LOVE.

im not a fan personally of the old style Daytona cars nor haptic controls — so we shall see..

I wish Ferrari would drop these ugly-ass headlights they want to put on the cars. You get a sexy, curvy car and then you go to the front and see the ugly ass headlights. It's like two design teams, one team has "rhythm" and the headlight team is a rhythmless engineering nerd.

Not heard any credible source saying orders opened months ago. Dealers writing up contracts with clients is not the same as the MODIS portal opening. Currently my dealer has the possibility to place orders with deposits for F167. No A variant. Only coupe. Apart from the Miami event, my dealer will do factory viewings for clients in about two and half weeks time; an order with deposit paid is a prerequisite to attend.

B-pillar in all these pics is either matte black or or covered with camo wrap… so probably not quarter window aft of door. Likely a ‘fake’ matte black ‘window’, 812 GTS style, or body color as I surmised already:
    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/149251250/

Black fake window would be rather cheap looking, yes, especially if bigger than 812 GTS.
