FOM said in 2028 they might consider them. A team sale is not on the horizon just yet. Alpine says they are not for sale and there is nothing from Dorilton about Willliams. Haas is not selling. I see Andretti working into Jr Formula in the news yesterday. Zero information from Cadillac - a relatively small valued maker at 45-46Bil$. I have no idea what to make of Andretti's obsession with F1 lol. Its not like they have an engine deal for the interim until Cadillac makes a PU. He is keeping himself in the news yes. Not 1 step closer to the grid just yet.

The entitlement has now reached idiotic levels. To think FOM want them now after all the whining and posturing the last 2 weeks. Andretti is desperate to stay in the news. Nothing more. Rather than being quiet and going about business Mario continues to run his mouth in dramatic that demeans the effort. Andretti are not required or needed to be on the grid. They are not owed anything. The system spoke for now. 2028 was a date given. Not good enough. They need to be petulant and further annoying about it.

 

At this rate, Mario Andretti will soon seek UN Sanctions against Liberty and the 10 teams !

It is and to be honest there is nothing about them that is inviting or interesting. They are just loud mouth entitled entity. They have a name but in US racing they pale compared to Penske. This is a 5 year old child now and the blame goes to Ben Sulayem and his ideal about this. He did nothing to gain consensus with FOM/Liberty before embarking on such a project. In this woke era, I am afraid they will get their way in the end.
Probably Andretti will end up being the most unpopular team in the paddock.

 

Why would any organization want to enter F1 now? I think that the upcoming formula will be the death of F1. If it is a bleak as Newey predicts, I'm out.

And Audi.

 

Audi is a big manufacturer like Mercedes, or Honda.
They have massive organisations behind them, and plenty of resources.
They are used to manage big programs, and lead them to fruition.
For example, between 2000 and 2014, Audi took 13 wins at Le Mans.
Even with Cadillac backing, Andretti will be a minnow compared to them.

I am out of loop. What is Newey predicting?

 

Basically that the ICE will act as a generator to power the electric motors. There will be a disconnect between ICE revs correlation to acceleration. He (perhaps someone else) said imagine going through the Loews hairpin at Monaco(slowest corner in F1) with the ICE screaming to generate the juice to exit the corner.

 

Congress gets involved. That should speed things up.

 

It's a bit like CVT on some cars: the accelaration don't immediatly match the revs increase.
Also, the e-power system on some Nissan where the revs of the ICE generator increase when the electric motor asks for more energy to supply the battery.
It's not a big deal really; I am not sure spectators will notice it.
I think some people make it more of an issue than it is really.

Now F2 and F3 boss now says no room for Andretti to join in lower formula as a new team. F3 makes sense given 30 teams, F2 argument is he has to buy a team, not start one.

No one owes them a grid slot. Ben Sulayem opened his big mouth and we have this mess. He never conferred with FOM to start a grid expansion. He just did this on his own. Who wants a crying whining team owner like Andretti. OMG the entitlement lol. They were told 2028 maybe. So now its pressure with regulators that are more than easily ignored. Domenicali has 11 locations ready to take on an F1 event. IF the US is lost the calendar will make up for it in other locations. There is zero reason for Andretti to complain. They are not 'owed' a grid spot. Go cry to The Great FIA Leader and shut it. Congress cannot force a grid slot to appear. Its timed for exposure with a race in Miami. Frankly with this amateur loud, idiotic move, they should not be allowed in the paddock. No point talking to them at the race. Its extortionist.
