XJR15 with 900 miles Cost new 1 million $ like the McLaren F1 Same conception, Image Unavailable, Please Login
No, the rear is not too long; the camera I used may have introduced some image distortion but I can assure you that the model correctly represents the actual car. Many press photos and amateur photos distort the dimensions if the camera is too close to the car. I can also assure you that the Smith model is very wrong; he used an old wind tunnel model as a base for his model, but the wind tunnel model did not match the actual XJR 15 by a long shot. My 1:8 model is a CAD/CAM upscale from the 1:43 Provence Moulage kit, which is the only accurate 1:43 commercial model made. The Kyosho 1:64 scale XJR 15 looks pretty close also, but the Starter and Spark models are poor. If you want to believe that my model is incorrect on the evidence of that one photo...you are free to do so, but you are wrong.
Resurrected thread, but what the heck Was the 6.0L V12 based on the same displacement engine used in the XJS-V12? My XJS has the 5.3L, presumably there is a connection, but can't find the info. Previously in the thread, it was mentioned that someone purchased the molds - anything of it?
If someone will let me laser scan a full size XJR-15 (preferably in U.S, but will travel at some point), an accurate scaled down model can be made.
The newer Cult Models 1:18 scale XJR-15 is probably the most accurate commercial model of the car, It was released several years ago and the blue ones are by now almost impossible to locate, but the orange ones are readily available. I bought 4 of the blue ones when they were first offered, no interest in the orange one.
