Well it was already posted. 812 successor will have a V12. NOWWWW one last one hopefully it has one too

 

I personally don't understand why the name is so intriguing to many. It's the least important thing (of any car) IMO.

 

Ferrari has a very particular naming convention (or lack of?), so the anticipation is rather intriguing.

 

And it sounds even weirder to say "have you seen the Ferrari LaFerrari?". Or in Italian, "la Ferrari LaFerrari?".

Cool car. Weird name.

Because we have squeezed this lemon for all of its juice and now we must wait for the actual release. What else can we discuss? Haha

 

May I remind us all that the "LaFerrari" was named after the company, as explained by LdM. "La Ferrari" is the way to refer to the company in Italian. So that name payed homage to the whole company, workers and all. LaFerrari does not mean it is "the Ferrari of all Ferraris", means the Ferrari company.

See how this translates into italian:
"Ferrari is a company that manufactures sports cars"
in Italian:
"La Ferrari è un'azienda che produce auto sportive"

 

They have so many naming conventions! Makes it hard to predict.

I think 812 may be an outlier. Are there other models with this convention that I'm forgetting? 512 and 612 were both in reference to displacement, so despite sounding similar, I don't believe they share a naming convention with the 812.

 

To point out myself, all this doesn't make it a great name either...

 

Some clients have seen the car and saying the name is Ferrari 12 Cilindri (Dodici Cilindri). Not verified by pictures yet.

Seems like it’s NOT a full width rear light bar as some had predicted.

Also, to my ears, it sounds BETTER than the GPF equipped 812 GTS. I know this car will also have GPF…so they did SOMETHING to it. And I applaud whatever they did. It sounds great.

 

Sounds closer to TdF than 812 GPF. Lovely work…

Then you choose another name IMO. "F8 tributo" was half decent.

I can think of so many stupid names to state "this is the last V12". That, for example.

 

Agree very muffled but it has a nice pop on the upshifts. Surely exaggerated for drama but I like it.

 

Tributo sucks. F12 Scorsa could work

 

I don't mind the sound being muffled like crazy tbh. I know Gintani, Novitec or even Valvetronic will give this car a nice exhaust treatment

 

Similar to Bugatti’s centodieci - I think this would be better as Ferrari Dodici

maybe if the official name is 12 Cilindri, we just call it Dodici anyways lol

 

Sounds muffled compared to a TDF or 812 "sans: GPF, they sound like fighter jets. Would pick 812 over TDF sound wise, but would take TDF over 812 car wise

 

Anyone know what time the unveiling is today?
