I am sure someone is regretting calling SP3 'Daytona' because arguably the name would be far more suited to this car. Makes me wonder at what point in the project it was decided to build a clear homage to the 365 GTB/4.....

My feeling is this is not really the true successor to the 812. More a SP project which somehow became a 'volume' car.

After watching some YouTube review video's and seeing the car in better light and walk around videos in 4K HD 85" TV...LOL...I do not think what I posted earlier. Photo's on my computer, iPad, iPhone seem to flatten out the car too much...the released photo's seem overly processed in someway. Not good photography from Ferrari!

I believe Ferrari will have zero issues selling this car. I see much better lines in the car and development in the car on the 4K HD video review. I actually really like it so I am retracting my post above...I'd edit it if this forum allowed that.

Will it even fit in a normal driving lane ?

I’m not shopping, but I love the F12 and 812 - maybe this new one will grow on me.

In my opinion this time Ferrari Marketing did a big mistake: I would have called this car "Daytona SP3" and sold it at USD 1 M+ each as an Icona series. This car is full of heritage design, it definitely is an Icona series. And I would have called the actual SP3 on production as "P4 Speciale". Now there is a big mess with the Daytona name that identifies a car that does not resemble in any way the Daytona and a reborn Daytona with a "strange" name sold at one third of what they could ask for such a car

Well, in my opinion the spider is way better than the 812 GTS.
For me the GTS has always been a good coupe design destroyed by converting into a cabriolet.

The 12C reminds me of the design concept of my BMW Z8 - nobody liked it in 2000 but in the end it aged super well and now it is still a beauty!

Except the interior is a total non-starter, nothing can be done to fix it; a touchscreen for AC controls, seriously? No start button, silly silver controls at center for gear selections, etc. It's basically a Roma with a V12 and a huge one at that. You have to get the spider if you want a 'solid' roof, not a fan of glass panels for headliner. They could of done so much better. Best part, forward opening engine hood, that's a total win.

Keep in mind that the 365 was never officially named "Daytona" and that the SP3 Dayotna revers the sports prototypes that won at Daytona. So, what Ferrari did makes some sense. Calling the 12 Cilindri "Daytona", would make no sense since it doesn't have anything to do with that race and the 365 was not a Daytona to begin with.

On the configurator the glass (panoramic) roof is an option. My understanding is that there is the standard roof, the glass roof and the carbon fibre roof.

PS: I never got the allure of clam shell bonnets. They inhibit access to the engine.

Check out the 12C doors, when opened, how hugely thick they are, that is for the EU "pole side impact" regulation, it also affected the SP3 and why its doors are so hugely wide...

It doesn’t look 8” wider. The 1971 number is without mirrors, could the 2176 number be with mirrors?

Yes. Also if it was that wide they would be required to have these lights in-between the headlight in america.

Sorry guys. It's not THAT wide.

    I love it.
Plus it always looks better in person.

    The convertible is amazing...

Not a fan of the coupes rear profile and black accents that can't be changed. But... I do like it overall.

Reminded me of the original tdf on the rear styling.

Inside is meh but expected now. It looks fine. Im.just more olds school.

I like it. I think we will all over it when we see it in person.

This is an improvement over an 812 in my book... Which was one of the most confused Styling jobs the brand has ever put out. Also the 812 was the most Japanese looking car they have ever made.

As others said, it 's with and without mirrors, so not apples to apples. Ferrari has a habit of quoting different numbers here and there... LOL!

It looks like a Roma with the original Ferrari Daytona prototypes headlights. To bad they didn't follow it all the way to the back end with proper Ferrari round tail lights. Also sort of reminds me of the organic Bertone Alfa done a few years ago that was shown at Pebble Beach I believe.

Oh I dont disagree. Im personally not a fan. F12 looks so much better. 812 is even starting to look better. But as you are well aware- the lemmings will line up throwing money at the dealer to try to get an allocation. And 18 months after release, Autotrader will be littered with these. The cycle continues

With mirrors folded my 812 GTS just barely fits through my third garage door. When I first brought it home I literally had to stop and pull out a tape measurer just to make sure. I don't think the 12Cilindri will make it.

Anyone can order it. Ferrari is public, they won't say no to you. New times. They went Kendra Scott when they should have gone Hermes.
