Looking fantastic! What are you using to clean your parts? A lot of elbow grease and what else?

Usually brake cleaner and a brush, then either aluminum brightener and a brush and hose off or a very light (fine) glass bead. Rinse off and then I coat them with a trim detainer and a clean paint brush (trim cleaner listed above) . Thanks!!

While we are at it, you gonna sand off the red wrinkle paint on the letters on top of the plenum?

I didn't plan on it. Its not wrinkle paint. I believe the 308 had wrinkle paint. Not the 328. Damn. I just looked at my pics and noticed they aren't painted originally. Hmmmmm. This is how it was so, someone must have re-painted this at some point. Yea. I'll probably sand them down.

Silver I can see. I've looked at 100's of pics I could find online, the red does not look like wrinkle paint. Nice and glossy in every pic. Mine will be staying as is regardless. Its far from a concourse car.

I just go to the auto store and match them up to something they have, and cut the 90 out of it.

Sooooo. Went out to the garage today and there was a bunch of oil on the ground under the ac compressor. It’s coming from the compressor by the lower of the two mounting bolts from the bottom bracket. One bolt is longer than the other. I’m guessing I put the wrong one it and compromised the compressor casing. I’m assuming it’s F’d and I need a new one? Any links to one that is a 100% direct replacement?

Need some vacuum help. The solenoid on the drivers side in the air injection only has two ports. Mine has three. This is how they are run currently. There is a line that goes into the wheel well and disappears into the trunk. Where does this third port on the solenoid hook up, and where does this disappearing line go (lines up perfect with the upper intake through the oil cooler grommet) and what does it do? Thanks!

Got the answer on Facebook. Front facing port with the ? Next to it is open, vacuum line in the fender well goes to the intake, and is for the ignition control module. Digiplex box.

got the plugs and wires in. So close.

Yes. It is on my car and operational as we speak.

It bolts right up to the existing mounting.

You will have to move the clutch and all the studs over to the new compressor.

Here is a thread that explains how to remove the clutch. You will need a 5/8-11 bolt.

Thanks Again! Do you happen to have a R12 to 134 conversion write up / link with parts handy?

Sorry, I do not but using the "Search" function will bring up tons of threads!

It is a highly volatile subject! There are those that say you must replace every system component, and others that say not. It is your car, so it's your choice!

I replaced the compressor, the high and low side ports, the drier, and the expansion valve. The system works just fine. Because I didn't change the lines, I have to recharge it about every 2 years but that is no big deal to me!

    Good luck!

Well this was like a damn puzzle going back together. Finally finished. However, the belt was extremely tight on the compressor without the tensioner pulley even helping.
Is there supposed to be spacers or washers between the compressor and the top bracket on the 3 studs? I’m thinking I need to add some

I suspect you'll get a more comprehensive response, but my recollection from the AC on my 328 (like 5 years ago) was that there was a single washer (aka spacer) on each of the 3 studs. I think these are item 6 in the parts book. My car just had washers, but looks like an actual spacer might be available (the C-shaped item 6)
