812 Replacement Rumors

Really? I've owned 15 (maybe more, I lose track) Ferraris and currently own three V12s and don't care for it. Yet, I don't see how my opinion is any more valid than someone who just really likes cars but has owned no Ferraris or maybe only one Ferrari. Now is your mind still boggled?

Honestly, I'd rather listen to the opinion of someone who is not so deeply invested in the brand.

I am in the same boat. Placed a deposit for a coupe, with the option to switch to a spider, but want to see the rear end in person before committing to a firm order.

 

The ioniq5 front end on a c4 body is what I saw at first.

 

Is it possible to purchase both vehicles or is only one vehicle?

 

I'm sure they'd let you order five of each if you ask.

 

Assuming you have the qualifications to be assigned allocations it's my understanding you may not order two of the same car, but a coupe and spider are different and are therefore allowed. Provided of course your dealer has available allocations. But for example you order a coupe, and your spouse orders another coupe, that's ok because different buyers.

 

I like the rear shape of the camo car. Gives a better idea of the contours

 

if you have the means and the allocation i think it is a no brainer... buy the spider and if you really don't like it sell it for a profit

What is a little boggling is that the same voice throughout this entire thread that extolled the 167 to be the most fantastic and beloved Ferrari of all time - spoken as a true insider with all the assurance of an eye witness - is now one of the most vehemently hater of the actual vehicle. Apparently this voice has never owned a Ferrari yet speaks as one with personal knowledge.

If that is who people see as the most authoritative voice to listen to, that’s a little mind boggling.

Ferrari hasn’t set any restrictions on who buys the cars - your dealer will obviously allocate to major customers first but I think if you want one or both you’ll probably get what you want - you just may have to wait a while.

I have not seen the car in person but it’s really tough to get fired up about some of these pics. And I historically love front engined V12’s & have owned a 612 OTO, two FF’s, a F12, 812SF…

Hoping I just need more time to appreciate the design but that still hasn’t happened with the 296, SF90, Roma, etc, even after seeing them in person. [emoji53]

Agree. I'm sure in-person is best but have to say it looks sort of pedestrian in the pictures.

Actually was one of the first things I thought of when I saw it. "How are they going to make a VS out of that?"

You can usually tell which parts of the car lend themselves well to "aggro-up". Take one look at the 296 bonnet and put a picture of the 296GT3/296 challenge next to it and you already have an idea of what the VS version will look like. But I just can't see it here, it doesn't look like a car that benefits from a more aggressive look. But I'm sure Mansory and Novitec will confirm that before Ferrari do lol.
