Apparently 456 accumulators or their BMW equivalent are no longer available/national back order with no expected availability date. Some sites say they are in stock but when u try and order or call u r informed that they are indeed not in stock.

my rear shocks as expected are also leaking.

as I see it my options are
    A) wait and hope shocks don’t explode if they haven’t already (question that follows is how long for wait b4 exercising other options)

    b) buy these on eBay but who knows how long they have been sitting (also really expensive)

    C) switch to an aftermarket coil over setup. $$$ but once it’s done it’s done.

anyone else in a similar predicament and questioning the meaning of (Ferrari)life?

    Ok update.

I did end up finding apparently OE accumulators from one site (rmt). Not as cheap as bmw counterparts but no other choice at this point ($450 each).

my question now is I already know the rear shocks have a leak but don’t have time to send out for a rebuild till end of fall.

Since already know shocks are leaking is it worth swapping out the accumulators now or shld I wait until I can get the shocks rebuilt?

There are some other BMW or Mercedes accumulators that will work with a modification to the bracket. I noted that the BMW ones are hard or impossible to get in the parts sticky....someone recommended a Mercedes part that should work. I believe I used this and then flattened out the ears to match the bracket.

The people in Florida I used for the rebuild turned them around pretty quickly.

I have had no problem with my adjusters, but if I had it to do all over again I would probably send them to Captain Z CNC for his metal gear replacement while I had everything apart.

As someone else mentioned in a post, just send them the bare shocks, without the adjusters or other parts.

They are a mass production shop from what I see, but if you just need a rebuild pretty efficient.

I had similar experience and decided to replace the accumulators and do shocks later....after I replaced the accumulators the shocks stopped leaking fluid...no leaking for almost two years now..... fingers crossed!!

That's good news Pelican told me at one time....they didn't know if they would get any more. I believe that piece is almost a direct bolt-up. The alternates required bending/modifying the bracket.

PN 158693 crosses over with BMW 37211132043. As alluded to, 37211132043 is being made again in limited quantities in Germany.
