3505 winning the Peco Trophy on May 27, 1962. Interesting photo as the official programme has #6 as Roy Salvadori in John Coomb's E-type 850006 (BUY 1 which became the first Lightweight E) but this was replaced with his DB4 Zagato (0190) after the Jag was damaged at Goodwood on Easter Monday. As has been told many times Coombs decided if you can't beat them then join them and bought his own 250 GTO... Cheers, Damien
G'day Damien - I think this is actually the GT race on May 25th. Ireland had #137 and you can make out the 3 digit race number as opposed to #76 in the Peco Trophy Image Unavailable, Please Login
G'day Andrew, Here's the programme - https://www.progcovers.com/motor/brands620527.pdf, Sunday the 27th of May and clearly lists the GT event as the Peco Trophy. 3505 is next to Dick Protheroe's E-type 860004 (one of his several CUT 7s), the Roy Winkelmann '62 Vette and Ken Baker's E-type 850096 (7 CXW) on the front row. Cheers, Damien
Hello again - indeed it does! I have always had the race in August as the Peco Trophy, along with the Guards Trophy Image Unavailable, Please Login
My reading of it all was that PECO Sponsored the championship and there were multiple 'Peco Trophy' events. May 25 (per Damien above), August 6th - my screenshot above and the following one which is December 26th. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, there were several rounds of the Peco championship... that last scan leads to the question can anyone identify the 250 GT raced by the Hon Richard Wrottesley? He also raced the '57 LM winning D-type XKD 606 and Flat Iron Lister BHL5 amongst other cars but I can't identify his Ferrari. Cheers, Damien
Sebring 12 Hours 1964. 250 GTOs 5571 GT number 30 and 3223 GT number 82. Posted on FB by Clarke Walker. Image Unavailable, Please Login
0598 CM April 1957 Dillingham Field Hawaii. Hill won the flying mile at 165 MPH I think it is a William Edgar photo.

#51 is 2839 GT at Innsbrook in 1964 #94 is 3505 GT at Zeltweg in 1963 #142 is 3505 GT at the Timmelsjoch Hill climb, Austria in 1963 At his last one he raced both 2839 GT and 3505 GT on 2 separate numbers (#142 and #143 for each car) for a total of 4 runs. Placheta also used a number of aliases including Carlos Brioni, etc. His son Peter Placheta raced 250 SWB California Spider 3293 GT in Vienna-Aspern April 1965. Per registration documents in my archive Gunther Philipp was born on the 8th June 1918 in Marosheviz (Toplita, Romania) as Gunther Placheta, and was resident at Strada di Gianella in Orbetello, Italy, but also in Graz, Austria. You notes look like they might be correct. I have not noted where my info came from. Zooming in on 4 photos Philip (white driving suit) is clearly the driver of 3505 GT with both numbers and also 2839 GT with #142. The driver of 2839 GT with #143 has a short sleeved dark shirt.
