I have come to the sad decision that it’s time for me to sell my Ferrari 612 OTO. I love everything about this car and have enjoyed and been so proud to have called it my own. I researched the early V-12 Grand Tourer 612s through these forums for a year+, made many inquiries, a few BAT bids, and then fell, head-over-heals, for this rare car, with its OTO features, specs and elegant looks. F-chatters say there are only 29 US ‘09s, with 27 for ‘10-’11.

The car is a 2009, in Bianco Avus (an off-white), with a two-tone Daytona seat interior (Cuoio tan and Iroko brown), with Carbon Fiber trim, steering wheel, and paddles. The original Sticker (below) says $351.8k.

Its One-to-One and other cosmetic features/options include :
    • factory Scuderia shields, yellow wheel centers, and yellow brake calipers,
    • the electro-chromatic panorama roof,
    • ball-polished 20” Challenge wheels,
    • yellow tach,
    • parking sensors and camera.
    Mechanically, this OTO includes :
    • the steering wheel Manettino,
    • carbon-ceramic brakes,
    • the later Bosch 7.3.2 ignition,
    • the Superfast F1-S (100 milli-secs) transmission with (new) dual-plate (ala 599) clutch,
    • a custom mesh-wrapped X-exhaust.
    • new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires (21 mos, 2300 mi), and also
    • new Pirelli Soto-Zero winters (25 mos, 900 mi – for cold, Yes; snow/salt, No!).
In the 2-1/2 years, 4,200 miles that I’ve had the car ‘in my care’, I have put on those new $5k tires, have done $7.7k in regular Annual Servicings and maintenance at the close-by Ferrari dealership, and did another $12.3k in maintenance/replacements (F1 actuator, hood-trunk struts, rear tie rods, valve cover gaskets, steering hoses, fuel pump-tank rings, TPMS sensors, etc, etc) at the two area Ferrari dealerships. In addition, a local euro/Ferrari specialty shop just installed (April ’24) a brand new dual-plate clutch (Ferrari), sensors, and (Hill Engg) bearings, at $10.6k. (Total of $36k maintaining and bringing this 612 up to spec and confident ownership/driveability.) The remaining (two) sticking switches and ‘sticky’ buttons were replaced at that time as well.

Paint, leather, carpet, glass are all in great, unblemished condition, excepting : there is an unfortunate wrinkle at the driver’s door edge, where a key got caught in the closing door, and a tear in some (non-structural) fiberglass under the right rocker likely due to a bad ‘lift’ placement. Full transparency: Yes, there is a 2013 CarFax report of front-end damage while parked . . . for which two Ferrari dealerships and three high-end independent Ferrari shops can find no evidence of damage or repair. Current service records, and some to back 2014 are included. There are two keys, the original tool-kit, a non-original 612 manual, and a new CTEK charger.

The car is in a heated garage, and on a battery-tender when inactive. To my knowledge it has never been “tracked”.

Dealer and auction prices are wide-ranging. I am asking $140,000 for this mechanically sorted & sound, daily-driveable, beautiful example of a rare Ferrari 612 OTO. I am happy to discuss any aspect of this car and sale here or via PM. Many thanks for your interest !

I'm not always a fan of white on Ferraris but this one is stunning and unique. The white really shows off the Cuoio interior.

As an owner of one of the other 28 OTOs (in the US) from 2009, I have to say this is a super nice, 1-of-1 spec. The OTO is a great daily driver and a big step up from a normal 612 given the 20” wheels, ceramic brakes, roof, transmission, etc.

Thanks to you all for the compliments. It is truly an unusual and (to me) very elegant 199mph Grand Tourer. A few updates:
    - Yes, I’ve seen the LFSC listings and recent BAT result. I think $140k is indeed a good buy! But I’d love to contact #2. Sorry too (Taz) that F-Chat took down my reference under “599-612” to this posting; Thanks for nice note.
    - Good luck, Congrats Rick on the FF! (but never nearly as pretty).
    - Mileage: There are 34.3k miles on it 4/16/24. No trips planned, but I do drive the car around town.
    - AC: I’m in Chicago, so it’s been a long time since I’ve fired up the AC. But in three minutes it was blowing today at 45F.
    - Happy to stay in touch re your questions.

Did I see this car this past Sunday in Lake Forest? If so it looked super clean and interior smelled like new Italian leather. Sorry I peaked inside at the Fuelfed car show (if this is the same car)

    Hi there "Redhammer' -
Sorry I missed you and a chance to chat. Did quite a bit of that with lots of curious FuelFed attendees. No active selling there, but happy to 'show it off'.
Glad you checked it out. Hope to do Winnetka, Hinsdale.

Hello 'JippieJake' Mike, et al -
An ex-good friend (sorry, kidding) gently closed the driver's door while holding the key in that same hand. The key blade got caught by, 'stuck' in the closed door seam.
At the top of this photo you can see the resulting crease and paint crack in the door frame. I have not touched-up the paint. That's it.

The picture is a little blurry but I get it. No way to buff-out probably if the paint was removed by the sharp key.

Forgive the ignorance but is anything given up from the exclusion of the HGT2 package related to the transmission? So much talk about this lately I am getting a better grasp on the variations but also loosing track.

Mike - After a Sunday show, here is a hopefully ‘clearer’ shot of the door frame, from just beyond arm’s-length. It needs a shadow to show up.

    - I know you’re right: there are thread-volumes here on HGTS, -C, -E, -2 with regard to 599s as well as 612-pre and 612-OTOs. There are many here smarter than I on those details.
    - The OTO did incorporate some earlier HGTx features though as they evolved. An old post listed: Sport exhaust, Chrome tips, 20” Challenge wheels, larger 23.5mm anti-roll bar, colored calipers, and chrome rear-grill inserts as HGT2 ($13.2k) items for the 612-OTO. (My car has a custom x-pipe exhaust, those HGT2 wheels, and calipers optionally, but the std 22mm bar, and std black rear grills.)
    - I don’t know of any HGT2 impact on the transmission. The OTO boosted the engine specs, and uses the 599’s dual-plate clutch and trans ECUs. The F1-S trans was itself an upgrade from F1-A, with shifts down to 100ms.
I’ve read that 599 and/or 612 shifting got down to 85ms, but I don’t know if that’s real or where/when it showed up.
    - I also remember reading elsewhere here that HGTS means ‘He’s Going to Speed’ and HGTC upgraded to ‘He’s Going to Crash’. ;-)

HGT2 did not affect F1 on either the interim or OTO 612s. Ferrari updated F1 for all interim 612s for around 125 ms min shift time. At one point we speculated HGT2 might have gotten the 599 HGTE software for 85 ms min shift time on the OTOs, but that was incorrect. Vanilla interim and OTOs had exactly the same F1 systems as the HGT2 optioned versions, the interim with the single disc dry clutch and the OTOs with the 599 twin disc dry clutch.
