It's interesting to see that second hand Spider Window ECUs are sometimes half the price of GTB ECUs. I wonder if they interchangeable (Spider -> Coupe)?

I assume if there are no inputs from the Spider microswitches, the Spider ECU would behave like a normal ECU. The wiring is the same on the main plug. The Spider ECU has a second plug.

I would have to check the inputs on my Spider to confirm this.

Looking at the Roof diagram, you might have to short out at least one pair of pins on the Spider ECU's additional plug to simulate roof latched closed.

I'll disconnect the additional plug on my car to see if the windows work.

i'll try to open it, and see what is inside.
the pins you see on the pic is left and right that way i could test bouth sides.
electric motors are fine, i think the power is not getting to the left side relays, purhapse a line broke inside.
    thanks for the tip!

The windows on my Spider work fine without the Window ECU top plug in. I'm pretty certain from this that the Spider Window ECU would work on your car.

I think that there may be a problem with the 12v not getting tonthe ecu for the side that isnt working

From your first message, I assumed both windows weren't working. Did you check the fuse?

Yes i did , ill check the wire that is entering the ECU on the plug one has power so and i think the second one, going to the other side of the car ( door) isnt. May be an fuse box problem or something else... purhapse i just bridge the power wire thats working on the ECU to the other side that isnt. Just use one window at the time worst case

Unfortunately, there are no inline plugs between the fusebox and the ECU, so it has to be either wiring or the fusebox which is causing no power.

    Hi Qavion,

normaly i'll check the plug soon to see whats up,
an outher issue i found is that my high beam lights dont work when the runninglights are on,
if ther are no lights on the high beams work,
if the running lights are on they dim when i put on the high beams,
looks like the high beams short when i put them on together with the lowbeams. do you have a wiring diagram of the lights? :)

    Euro 5.2 diagram here:

    https://www.dropbox.com/t/PxKbWb5wcqebbGir

How do you get your high beams to work without the running lights being on? Do you mean your daytime flashers operate (in the bumpers)? When you turn the knob, you have to pass through the running light setting to get to low beam headlights, then you push the steering column stalk forward for normal high beam headlights.

On USA cars, the low beam headlights are turned off when you turn on the high beam headlights. However, they shouldn't turn off or dim the sidelights/running lights. Euro cars have a different E (E2) relay and use provisional wiring to keep the low beam headlights running during high beam operation.

When you turn on the low beam headlights, this activates relay A (E5) as well as relay D (E13/headlight pod motor control). Relay A stops your daytime flashers operating.

I can't think of anything at the moment which would cause the high beams not to work with the running lights on because the steering column stalk switch contacts normally won't allow this.

Yes. In the luggage compartment fusebox, there is a branch off the #11 fuse (L/H high beam). Power goes from the fuse to the headlight and to the bulb in the dash.

i think there is a short somewhere, the headlights dim when i use the highbeams, like the power is on the ground of the high or lowbeams when used.

Or maybe your battery is just getting low :D On our cars, the low beams and the highbeams illuminate at the same time.

Or maybe relay A (E5) is not working and your daytime flashers are illuminating instead of your high beam headlights? Are you actually looking at the lamps when you are testing them?
