Hello all, can the side flap motor be reconnected after disconnecting the cables to perform a manual closing.

I had to use the emergency close procedure from the owners manual.

I found that the front main top seal cylinder (for the locking latches at the windshield) was leaking. I got a new cylinder from Top Hydraulics and I used line couplers from Cabriolet Hydraulics.

Now I want to reverse the process but keep seeing something about "timing" getting knocked out when people have had the cable clips fail and the cable from the motor to the flap popped out.

Is there any way to figure out the timing myself, I'm a mechanic at a high end dealer/storage garage and cant find much online, and its not mentioned in the WSM. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, There is so much useful information on FC. ::)

I should have mentioned that the emergency close procedure has you remove the flap cables from the motor and then turn them manually with the T-handle in the tool kit to retract the flaps. Now I have the leak - that caused the emergency close - addressed and I want to refill the reservoir and reconnect the flap cables. Do the flaps need to be timed.
