    Hi,

Just booked my first Ferrari: Roma Spider in Rosso Mugello with black interiors. Here are the customizations I finalised:

20" Forged diamond wheel rims (RSFD)
    Magneride Dual Mode Suspension (MADM)
    Yellow brake calipers
Floor mats with embriodered logo (FLMA)
Back radars with Blind Spot Detection
Ventilated full electric front seats (RSFV)
Cavallino on rear seats in EMPH/X (EMPR)
    Surround View (SURR)
Colour upon request for special stitching (STC2)
Embroidered prancing horse on headrests (EMPH)
Glossy carbon fibre steering wheel with LEDs
    Coloured inner details (CLDT)
    Foot rest in aluminium (PLAL)
    Passenger Side Display (PDIS)

Thinking of getting rid of passenger side display as the touch screen didn't feel quite good and it doesn't do much. Also, what about Surround view? Do we really need it?

Any other feedback on the above customization list will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    V

Great specs! I think the mugello is my favorite Ferrari red. I am sure it will look awesome on the Roma. Mine is Grigio Titanio. My 2 cents on your questions...
I have Surround view but absolutely don't use it at all. It is complicated and cumbersome. Would much prefer to just have the passenger side view mirror dip when I put it is reverse, but that would be too much to ask. I honestly think you could skip the Surround view.
I do not have a passenger display and at first was bummed bc it looks cool and seemed like a nice feature. However, having lived with my Roma for about 4 months now, I am glad I don't have it. The electronics are just so bad and wonky that it would drive my passenger just as crazy as they drive me crazy. At least your passenger can keep up the illusion that all is good!

    Thank you so much!

I forgot to mention, dealer told me there is an extra charge of about $1000 for "Electrochromic rearview mirror (MIR3)". Did you get it? I think Ferrari standard specs include it as a default config.

BTW, I don't see scuderia badging in your specs. If that is really the case, good for you! You know it's a Ferrari and you are the person who matters the most. I think it fits in with the overall Roma idea of being understated. It is not like you are trying to hide that it's a Ferrari but you aren't screaming it on all four sides.
Having said that, if you are getting the badging, there is no shame there. Whatever your style...!

You are bang on! I don't like those badges, specially on a Roma. I think they spoil the beautiful lines. I checked out a lot of Roma Spiders, with and without the badges at a local Ferrari event, and decided the cars look much better without those "screaming" badges. But I won't judge anyone who is going for it, just like you mentioned "whatever your style..!"

Yeah, let me double check later. The electrochromic mirrors are linked to something else but I am forgetting now what option they are linked to (?Surround View)

MIR3 (Electrochromic Rearview Mirror) comes as standard in the full ADAS pack or can be ordered à la carte. I love the look of the Roma but it is a tough car to live with. I'm considering getting rid of it after three months and it's a 326K spec. All that means is more stuff to go wrong. Right now my navigation isn't working and it's telling me to contact the dealer. Had it with this car. Looks alone aren't enough and/or cutting it anymore.

We did passenger display in my wife's Portofino M and she really likes it. She watches it when I drive. Surround View is a must in my opinion, makes parking very easy (her PFM parking behind my 458).

I did spec surround view. In a 300k plus vehicle, I’d like as much help as I can get to keep it unscathed. I also specd high power stereo. I’m not a purist. If I was, I would have bought a gated 355.

We have surround view on our other cars, and find it invaluable for parking, garages and reverse.

The back radar (blind spot warning) requires electrochromic mirrors.

Surround view adds visible bulges to side mirrors for the cameras. I didn’t option it. That said, the Roma is quite long in the front and I find it easier to back into parking spaces (or my wife spots me when I pull into a space). The front parking sensors cannot find the curb, only taller things like other cars or walls.

It is possible to get the side mirrors to point down in reverse (see manual), but I would not recommend it. Once you do that, the mirror tends to stay pointed downwards and I am constantly adjusting it back up. (Now that I think about it, I haven’t had to do that since I got my car back from the shop. Wonder if it is fixed somehow…)

Blind spot warning is a must if you drive with the roof up. Good choice. :)
