    I recently bought a 488 Challenge and the first time I'm going to see it will be when I meet it in the pits at Silverstone in a few weeks. I thought I'd familiarise myself with the controls beforehand though and I see on the wheel TC1 and TC2, I think these are probably timing and gain controls for the TC? What sort of numbers do people use for what conditions? I appreciate there's a sizable element of personal preference here but any knowledge at all is more than mine. Similar question for the ABS level.

    Also, what on earth does FNC mean?

    My best advice is to hire a coach and let him show you how to use the controls and drive the car.

    Well yes, I'll likely have my driving coach there who has substantial challenge experience. I just wanted to get an idea what settings people used first.

    Start with:
    Tc1=3
    Tc2=3
    ABS=2

    If you have a better feeling for your car:
    Tc1=2
    Tc2=2
    ABS=2

    Wet start with:
    Tc1=4
    Tc2=4
    ABS=4

    Fantastisch. Danke FCD

    So TC1 how soon TC intervenes and TC2 how strong. Perfect. That's exactly what I meant by timing and gain. It will be really interesting to see how the various settings change the behaviour.

    Wow, zero miles on a pre-evo car. Pretty cool and unusual.

    I thought so! I say zero, I think 50 miles or something. Apparently it was bought new as a spare car and never used! As you do.

    I almost never see anyone driving with TC off.
    Start indeed with TC both on position 3, perhaps even 4 and gradually work your way down as track conditions allow it to 2 and perhaps 1. Crashing your car because you were over-confident happens... a lot!
    When conditions are damp that TC setting will help you control the car better. On dry conditions it will hold you back, but fortunately you can feel it too.
