Below are the know serial numbers of 599s originally born at the factory as manuals (no conversions). Chassis type code F141 ABM. I see this hasn't been updated since June of 2023. I feel like the evolution of this list will be to also track manual conversions and who did them. The conversions with OEM/Factory parts (scarce since factory parts are now NLA) will likely sit somewhere between factory manuals and then EAG conversions at the bottom of the list. Thoughts?
What’s funny is the EAG conversions might be considered “bottom” by some, but also by far, the most popular.
Long time I did not add anything because not many news or discoveries Anyway, some remarks regarding above list 148702 is now reg. in Monte Carlo 158461 is in Spain 187??? is in HK and probably #187008 AND an other one in HK #188368 G. Silverstone / Cuoio Total of 49 now. Conversions are not to be part of this list
Thanks, Zaza! As the title of this thread asserts, the serial numbers discussed are for factory manuals only. and shall never include conversions. But please, all you conversion aficionados should start a similar thread to track 599 Manual Conversions! There haven't been any new auction results recently, but 153027 is for sale (no affiliation): https://www.motorcarclassics.com/2007-ferrari-599-gtb-fiorano-c-1259.htm I am also sad to disclose that I have traded in #150551 on 330 GTC #11517. Why? I was doing fine with my Launch X431 code reader, but there came a time when I needed the dealership diagnostics, which entailed barging the car back and forth between islands. Most annoying...So vintage is the easy for me. (I'm going to miss the 599's AC!!!) Anyway, just as I bequeathed the custodianship of the 599 Manual Picture Therad to Zaza, I hereby bequeath this thread to Zaza as well. Ciao, Gary
Waouuu, I did not know #150551 was yours. I am sure you will find a 330 gtc very enjoyable I keep my 599 but I enjoyed vintage as well, so I purchased recently a 512 BBi I will try to keep this thread alive (but not much movement recently) ! Take care
Thank you, Zaza! Congratz on the BBi. That injection is easy to work on and I love the looks of boxers. (I've had a BB and BBi back in the day.) Ciao, Gary
News on the (genuine) manual 599 market #150866 will be auctioned at Monterey via RM Sotheby's on 17th of August, est. $750 to $950.000. I doubt it will fetch that price AND interior is Grigio and not Cream as always thought. https://rmsothebys.com/auctions/mo24/lots/r0071-2007-ferrari-599-gtb-fiorano/
The Blu Mirabeau is an uncommon (and gorgeous) color for a 599. I estimate close to $850k with that low mileage. Will definitely be an auction to watch.
Looks like the Grigio Chiaro documented in an earlier thread. Close to the old Sabbia (sand), which was also close to Crema.
Ha!!! Another Grigio chiaro!!! I feel less alone [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
News on the (genuine) manual 599 market An other one will be for sale this summer, #153378 thru Gooding & Cie at Pebble Beach https://www.goodingco.com/lot/2007-ferrari-599-gtb-fiorano-1/?filtersInput%5Bmake%5D%5B0%5D=Ferrari&filtersInput%5BauctionType%5D%5B0%5D=Live%20Auction&filtersInput%5BauctionYear%5D%5B0%5D=2024&filtersInput%5BliveAuctionVenue%5D%5B0%5D=Pebble%20Beach&sortBy=ENDING_SOONEST&pageNumber=1
Surprised it sold for under $800k. This is definitely the time to buy rare 599s. Even the GTOs seem to be going for (relatively) low prices compared to other specials.
I was curious why this one sold for so much less than the others. The answer appears to be the sale room addendum ("Please note that this vehicle will not be sold for use or resale in California or to a non-dealer California resident") and that it appears to have been modified. Was it possible to get black wheels and a black roof as factory options for the GTB in 2007? Also badge delete, which could make a difference to some collectors.
Having watched the Broad Arrow, RM, Bonhams and Gooding auctions, that disclaimer was presented for many lots. There were a couple cars that had my interest but the lack of a passing CA smog test (by the auction houses) crossed those off my list. RM's 599 that goes today doesn't have that caveat but it also has sticky buttons galore!
Interesting, thanks. I don't understand the disclaimer for the 2007 599 GTB, though. There are countless 599s in California that regularly pass smog tests. If it is modified to have a non-complying exhaust, pretty easy to put it back to stock or at least make it compliant. Regarding the sticky buttons, not a big deal. It is a simple fix that is relatively cheap compared to other maintenance type issues and doesn't affect performance. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy one that had sticky surfaces.
The rule is that a car offered for sale in CA by a dealer (auction houses qualify as `dealers') must pass a smog test prior to sale or it can only be sold to a non-resident of CA or a dealer. Of course, this only applies to cars that are not exempt from smog testing (1975+ models). For some of the newer cars, if they just received a new battery or the battery is on a disconnect, they require a drive cycle (amount of mileage varies by car model) before they can be tested without throwing an error. That was the case with RM's blue 6spd 599 (I had the conversation with an RM specialist about both their 599's and another car that peaked my interest). And when you think about how many 1975+ cars cross the auction block during Monterey Car Week, it's understandable that it's impossible to get them all smogged pre-auction, especially if they arrived at the start of Car Week.
