Crazy number of 2nd hand 296's out there and dealers will be "forced" to take the stock from Ferrari. Happening already with certain brands "threatening" their dealers with breach of contract due to volumes committed and not taken. I know of one situation where a dealer has 10's of cars sitting and not wanting to advertise too many as this puts downward pressure on the market for these cars

I agree completely, but it seems to be the standard. My 2015 AM Vanquish came standard with a B&O sound system that will blow your socks off.

Paid extra for the Bowers and Wilkins in both the 570 and 720 and the one in the 570 sucked...the one in the 720 is passable....

Noticed Aston now gets you for extra on the better stereo too.

Bentley gives you several options, gets for like $10k if you want the B&O and more (I think around $12k) if you want the Naim...I've heard both of those systems and they are really good.

Really, in my mind, a luxury car should include a luxury sound system. The mid tier upgrade in my BMW is better than the Bowers and Wilkins in the McLarens....I suspect the JBL will be inferior to that when my 296.

MB's Burmeister systems are really nice and the higher end models get them standard, I think. I know Maybach has a mind blowing Burmeister.

Imagine 5 or 6 owners burning their bridges with Ferrari for failure to take a 296. Wild.

Probably depends on the contract. Some will get the deposit back some won't.

More that burn it, better for those who don’t. I don’t really get it. Did people expect the 296 to be an investment? real estate is an investment. Stocks are. Cars are to enjoy. 296 is a beautiful beast.

Why you think they burned bridges? Those people likely continue to buy cars Ferrari wants to sell, either now or later. It’s the dealer gets the black eye, not the client!!

If you don't take delivery of a car you spec'ed and ordered? I think that's the implication here. And if so, I wouldn't think that would leave you in good standing with the dealer or with Ferrari.

Dealer is not Ferrari, most cases maybe your dealer is unhappy if it is a bad speck, it is true, it is not completely true most cases that it is a burning bridge for you with Ferrari. Looks bad for dealer numbers to not selling car through. That your dealer problem. Ferrari will still sell you cars even if that dealer unhappy with you. Your other cars will not be cancel. Is not like flipping your car that may burn your bridge with Ferrari. If you can show example I take your side, but not guessing. I have not seen it.

The case of people declining to take their cars is also a sign of a shift in the power in the customers / Ferrari relationship, so typical arrogant retaliation from Ferrari may become unsustainable... pushing for ever more sales had to attract less motivated buyers, with the associated drawbacks.

  14. Ferrari doesn't care.

Dealer doesn't care either if they sell the car.

So, really, who are you pissing off?

And if you did piss someone off, if have enough flex later on (i.e. money) grudges go away rather quickly.

I think many naive depositors in 2021 probably expected a car that was originally $315k base and could have been nicely specified for $350k now arriving well over $425k, and interest rates that nearly doubled. I signed my final FFS paperwork today and I was in a very bad mood and unloaded a bit on the new guy (my fifth vehicle from the dealer but he's a new finance dude there). My fifth Ferrari, first new one, and I'll say that the Ferrari CPO experience is actually much better because it's fully disclosed and linear. I feel like the advice I got and disclosure on my CPO cars was top notch and the best car transactions I've had at any dealer.

As detailed elsewhere here, I had several material surprises on this one between the paint, overall price increase, a surprise request to more than double the upfront payment, and then preposterously low mileage (3,500 miles a year? Sure, why not. I stopped caring. Hilariously he went over the $3/mile penalty for excess mileage thrice and I told him "Well, that's not bad compared to everything else." It's almost $20 a mile in the first place! There's probably a sweet spot around 6,000 miles that economically is the best value-per-mile, I'm sure some simple algebra could calculate that).

I only know of one abandoned 296 locally, it sold same day to a rental agency. Rossa corsa on brusciata with a brown steering wheel. Bleh. I know of several more who cancelled before lock-in. Roma orders are dropping like flies though, several orphaned Romas here.

And what happened, bridges burned for ones not taking their car? Or have coming still more cars?

From what they tell me, those buyers are on the poop list and will not be able to order new from this dealer. Maybe another dealer would give them a shot.... or maybe that's just a threat and LV will let them order again.

I know the Romas are an issue though because they are not moving like a well-optioned 296 or even an F8. It's odd though how some cars just sit. There's a 296GTB AF, black with silver AF stripes over red sport daytonas, looks sharp but they can't move it.

Good question: it saves taxes and I'm not keeping the car long. It's my first lease ever, because I have a GTS on order already that should be here in 6 to 8 months. I didn't want to pay $34,000 in sales tax up front on the car - in Nevada for leases we pay sales tax each month on the payment amount. It's also leased under my professional corporation, which makes it a permitted tax deduction, or at least part of it.

Yes, you have more cars coming. Very good the good moves, maybe lose something when selling in your 6/8 months time but the car will be a nice one before GTS. Can you put 3500 on before 6 month?

Yes, it seems like I can run it up to that 3,500 within a calendar year and it's not measured monthly.

For 3500 in one car you will driving alot driving all the Ferrari you have. 3500 in 6 month in one Ferrari is alot of mile for where you’re live?
