    Thanks, Joe. That is apparently a bourbon/rye blend. It looks like they made a peated bourbon a few years ago but i couldn’t find it on their web site.

    The Walter Reed NEX has a boatload of Horse Soldier signed bottles; if anyone would like one say the word I can swing by (have MRI follow-up this wednesday) and grab one. I WANT to say straight is 48.99 small batch 68.99 and barrel proof 78.99 but i'm not 100% on the last two. Just grabbed a straight for a good friend on Friday.

    That said, did a timing belt on the Mrs' TDI today. Friggin exhausting. Less room to maneuver than a 360 :confused:

    Observed challenges aside (see, not complaints :p) I'm eternally grateful to my dad (fighter mechanic in Vietnam) for mentoring and inspiring me to roll with the DIY crowd. And tonight despite his affinity for Beam I've opted for a bit of a flashy pour, with gratitude and fond memories aplenty. Because life's too short not to drink the good stuff.

    Hope everyone has a happy evening and if you're off tomorrow, no guilt trippin cause every damn hero i ever had the honor of working next to in some austere environments loved a damn bbq, and all the cajoling and good times they bring. Be somber if you want, but not all day. Live it up, for all of em.

    This was the 12 yr Japanese Import bottle. My daughter and son-in-law went to Japan earlier this year and brought this back for me.
