Thoughts on the relationship between color/desirability and value....
    3 parts:
    1. Does color influence 458 value?
    2. If "yes", rank in order from most valuable to least: Black, White, Gray, Red, Yellow, Blue*
    3. To consider Confirmation Bias, what color is your 458?

*16 colors available, but keeping things simple

Yes but overall spec has bigger impact than just color. Bianco Fuji.

McDonald spec ranks the top. It preserves values the most. Absolutely.

When I was looking for mine, red ones did seem to command a bit of a premium but its difficult because that could have just been down to other confounding variables like mileage (although higher mileage red ones did seem to be priced higher than higher mileage cars in other colours).

When I was shopping - my criteria was NOT ROSSO !!! I noted milage as the first price modifier - under 10k , 5k, then 2k followed by 1k and under. Then options.
There are about 72 Rosso cars in my club.
Mine is the only Argento Nurburgring

Here's the deal.... on ANY 458 spec sheet, what was NEEDED was IMAGINATION and brains from the buyer to CREATE a really nice spec. YET, over the years all I seem to see much of are the common specs and those are not for me. So get a good spec on one and I think you'll be happy. PS. What I seemed to find out when i was buying was that Ferrari's (in general) have many owner's for one thing......do not like that AT ALL......Grigio Silverstone is me, and my cousins in silver make great combo's too. It's a great color.

I’m in the market for a 458 and have been searching everyday for 8 months. I find high spec cars sell faster but they are not bringing premiums. I keep hearing white cars are the worst resale but I like them, especially with a black top. They seem to sell fine. The black cars struggle to sell the most in my opinion. Red is a safest bet (not my favorite). The number one factor is mileage. Mileage dictates price, get a car you can afford with specs you like and wrap it any color you want.

I had a Grigio silverstone Ferrari and it’s one of my favorite colors. I’m thinking blue for my next Ferrari, not sure the resale but TDF or Blu pozzi would be nice. The ones for sale that I have seen are not a great spec, have a bad history or are way overpriced. Anyone have any pros/cons to blue?

True... why is that the 458 is considered to be so great, yet the average Carfax I seem to see in my search has 5 to 6 owners? Maybe a topic for a new thread?

A new thread for prior ownership, yeah start one. As I said I was not a fan of many owners and when I started looking at Ferrari next thing I knew I was seeing all these prior owners for a car that had little mileage. So right there that immediately started to limit my search possibilities but that was fine. I was facing many problems sourcing a spec for a 2015 SpecialeA which at that time was 6 years old. I knew that my plan was to keep the car a long time So being say the forth owner didn't bother me too much but it wasn't an ideal situation. If the spec came in with 4 prior owners that would have disqualified it. As it was, a spec did come along that had 2 owners. I was relieved and the spec was what I was looking for so I bought it site unseen from a dealer in Austin Texas. If you are planning on keeping yours for years to come, spending more time "hunting" for the right one isn't a problem. If nothing else, waiting longer gives you the chance to save more cash and really get what you seek. For grins, here's a picture of it at the dealer
