Only F-chat stops out the CPU. All other websites are normal. I would say it's not my computer but F-Chat.

I had a lot of trouble with Adblock Plus and Firefox (desktop, debian stable) only on fchat several months ago, until I switched to ublock origin for ad blocking. It works much better at ad blocking, to boot. It would be fine when you first clicked onto an fchat page, but after a few minutes the firefox process would be using extremely high memory and CPU, and very laggy/unresponsive, even if you did nothing after clicking to the page. If left too long without clicking to a new page, I would have to kill the firefox process as you could not regain control of it.

I notice the same thing on my PC... its a company run computer - all the latest updates etc... F Chat always seems to be slow and the drives are always running... I am not on it as much as I used to be.

Try using Brave, it has a lot of useful extensions built in like ad blocking and script blocking

It also has a built in task manager (like chrome and firefox) where you can see individual tab cpu and memory usage

Yeah. Fchat is definitely a CPU hog now. Can only run it when I'm active. Oh well. It was great while it lasted.

#1 it isn't a resource hog for subscribers. either pay 4 cents a day or see ads.

#2 I see all ads just like non-subscribers and I have zero issues iPhone Safari, Desktop Safari, and Desktop Chrome.

All of that said we're always looking for ways to improve performance, even if a non-subscriber.
