It's a bad time to sell a car like this in the UK right now. Election, economy, weather, general gloom..people are holding back on selling for good reason because they won't achieve good prices. You would think that meant what is for sale might be discounted, but mostly it's not. So not much around, few discounts..and for a sale at auction you need a very low or no reserve.

Conversely if the reserve is low on this someone will get a bargain, although it doesn't have FHP I think and from what I hear buyers of manual 575s really wait for FHP or HGTC though the latter is very rare.

A good 575M F1 with FHP only made a top bid of £47,500 on collecting cars yesterday. No reserve on that would have been painful for the seller. A dangerous tactic even for a manual right now unless it's a forced sale and the seller is willing to take a hit.

All the "collectibles of passion" are suffering right now, also due to the cost of money...art market is tanking, wine market is down. Wine is more liquid excuse the pun but with art, like cars, lots of people trying to sell for last year's price and failing, and lots trying to buy for this year's price and failing.

I am in the market for a particular slightly collectible 911 at the moment but hard to find the right one for the reasons above. But if someone really needs to sell their gated 575, or anything else, now, they should brace themselves.

Not sure if this is also the case in rest of Europe. Same expensive money and economy challenges there, but the car market seems much more buoyant across the channel. The UK was, back in 2015-16, more expensive than the continent for these modern classic cars, now the situation is reversed and exchange rates are far and away not the only reason.

Why look at the tires when you know they are a mismatched set and will have to be replaced? Tires are such a miniscule part of buying something like a Maranello.

Why would the current owner nickel and dime on mismatched tyres when they are such a miniscule cost relative to the bids the seller will be hoping for on a manual 575?

Likely down to availability. When I have needed tyres in the past I have found that only rears were available for one brand and only fronts for another. Probably it needed new rear tyres and Pirellis weren't available.

Yes that's a fair point. I have assumed that Pirellis are usually available and it's just Michelin that's problematic, but the tyre thread on here suggests that all can be challenging.

Yes, and it seemed to take 2 attempts to sell it.
I love the colour combination and the handling has already been sorted I believe?
Would it have gone for more with factory FHP?
Personally, I doubt it. Perhaps the reserve would have been higher and the car not sold at all.
Anyway, it's been bought and hopefully somebody will enjoy driving it.
There are upsides to this current climate.
    It's a buyer's market, so go buy something !

Sold for £142,500 including fees. Nice car, with FHP, modulars (OEM?), Daytonas, thorough history, 37,000 miles.

Darius- Those wheels were available for 2003s and from around SN 130XXX. Pretty ham-fisted owners if the synchros needed replacing at 35,000 miles.

I viewed it the last time it was offered on CC, and it's very tired.

The horn buttons on mine have a little bit of that pitting but I haven't been able to find them as individual parts. Does anyone know if they are available and, if so, where?
