Hello, For a 1984 308 QV US....The Ferrari part number is 120098. Anyone know the cross referenced BOSCH part number? Thank you! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just looked in my Bosch crossmatch catalog and they list part # 1 587 010 532 for the 308/328. Seems to be available online for $20-25. If you buy a new Bosch fuel pump spec'd for these cars, it will come with a check valve and copper washers in the box.
I should probably add that the original fuel pumps for the 308/328 are NLA from Bosch and they are substituting in crossmatch pumps (which seem to work fine). Even if you order a pump from Ferrari it's going to have a substitute Bosch unit in the box. However these new substitute pumps may use a different thread for the check valve attachment. So the check valve part number given above applies only to original fuel pumps.
Thank you s219. After more research on FC, I found Rifledrivers advice (below) per his post last year on these pumps, and I purchased his suggestions from Amazon. I had version A, the smaller pump with the external check valve... From Rifledriver : A. The new pump is incorrect. It is too small but is all Bosch offers at this point. I would not use it. It lacks capacity and I have had issues with that. B. An external check valve is what Ferrari changed to in the early/mid 80s. The internal valves were nothing but trouble. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y9WW183/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CMPQCK3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1"
I hate Chinese parts but those pumps, unlike the undersize Bosch have been working great and I'll use them until Bosch or another reliable Western company makes a proper pump.
Rifledriver ; I should have included in your quote that I referenced the part about your opinion on the source!.... I know many of us feel the same.
I went through this whole thing with pumps a couple years ago for my 1987 328. It is a mess, and if you order from a Ferrari parts supplier it is a crapshoot which pump will be in the box. Back then, 3-4 pumps were being substituted in. After talking with a Bosch engineer and going over performance charts for pressure and flow rate, I settled on Bosch USA part # 69532, which at the time included pump part # 0 580 464 151 inside the box along with the check valve and inlet bung for the 308/328. It has been working perfectly without any issues for 2+ years now. I have no idea what might come in the box nowadays. The thread I started back then is: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/328-fuel-pump-options.656924/
Thats the smaller capacity pump. In a perfect world it works OK. I have been running into cars suffering fuel starvation with them so have quit using them. I suspect as they age without extra capacity of the original big pumps they begin to have trouble.
Yep, both "0 580 464 125" and "0 580 464 151" substitutes are smaller EKP3 pumps with a pressure range of 50-600 kPa, a nominal flow rate range of 120-205 liters/hour, and a current draw of 5-9 amps. The original EKP4 pump specs were 150-750kPa, 140-210 liters/hour, and 7-11 amps, respectively. I wouldn't worry about the flow rate range (especially with a CIS system that has a lot of margin and diverts a lot of flow back through the return line), but there is a notable difference in pressure specs that may come into play for some applications and drop them from OK to marginal. If there was a fuel starvation issue with the smaller pump it would probably come down to some sort of back pressure that the smaller pump (~87 psi max, down from ~109 psi, a 20% drop) couldn't overcome. Clogged up filter, sticky injector, etc.
