So we decided to improve the lighting on this one. Tails first (led or hid highs coming next). We loved the look of the Morimoto's and just saw them on a local 355, and that did the trick.

    Install is super easy.

Really updates/modernizes the rear. I’m sure it’s a lot brighter too.

    Any issue with fast blinkers?

    Enjoy in good health.

It does look so good. We went to the dealer right after and it gives 812 vibes.

    way brighter!

no fast blinking with the resistors.

    A nice upgrade!

Yes, and a good safety feature too.

I like this upgrade. I'm not a purist when it comes to my 550 and F355 Challenge. Twenty-five year old technology needs upgrading. I upgraded my Challenge car with new two-way adjustable Penske shocks and Hypercoil springs with Eibach helpers amongst some other upgrades.

As I tracked my 550, it was obvious to me that the brake pedal had to be raises a bit for safer and more effective heel and toe (more correctly, outer sole-inner sole). I accomplished this with a 1 centimeter spacer placed under the brake pedal...

@otoupalik Looks great! I agree this is a worthwhile upgrade, and easily reversible back to OEM. Will be interested to see how the headlight mod works out, too.

Wondered what those Morimotos would look like on a Maranello.

I can see why you like the improved lighting and results, but I still like the look of the original lenses when not illuminated. Perhaps in person looks better

Yea, imho looks best when not lit. Looks very 812 esque. But that is the joy of modifying cars, not everyone will like changes, and that’s ok! I can’t ever imagine going back to stock after seeing this.

I need new rear lenses and this is not helping me make the logical rational decision of keeping it unmolested.

But I am having full Fiammenghi setup being put on this week so . . .

I’m not really sure, but the centers of the reverse lights are bubbled from the inside. I suspect that it was left in reverse and the lights got hot. It was that way when I got it so I’ll never really know.

I’ve heard of similar happening on 360s; that frustrating. Decent used rear lights have gotten pricey.

Scud Ing replaces the bulb holders themselves and some companies make custom inserts but at great cost.

Do the Morimoto you will look at it and never want to go back. But they are 100% reversible, so you can if you ever need to!

I am working with morimoto to see about a front led projector retrofit now too.

What are you doing about the 3rd brake light, if anything? Morimoto is having a sale this week and I’m close to pulling the trigger.

I hadn’t seen any options, if scud has one may get that as I need their flasher module too.

@BarthVader post pics if you do it!
