Inherited a Daytona air filter, kind of dirty...yet looks very usable. Are Daytona air filters washable?

Is simple green a good solution?

    Thank you.

WSM says to clean the air filter, and OM says to clean every 3000 miles and replace at 12,000 miles. Too long ago for me to remember how I did that.

The OEM FISPA are washable. First, remove any dust and debris from the outside. A shop vac works. Also, an air nozzle gets into the folds. Next, wash and rinse the filter with a good household cleaner; I like Fantastic. Let the filter completely dry usually over night. Some folks like to finally apply a light spray of oil, but the new filters were used dry right out of the box.

    Hey Alberto,

Yes, Daytona air filters are washable, so you can definitely clean and reuse them.

Just take the filter out, tap off the loose dirt, and soak it in a Simple Green solution (mix it with water according to the instructions).

Let it soak for 10-15 minutes, then rinse it from the inside out with clean water.

Make sure it dries completely before putting it back in.

Simple Green is a good choice because it's non-toxic and biodegradable, so it's safe for the filter.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you all, I have the filter, no car to take out of, still worth to breathe back life into it.

When Daytona were new, filters must have been a few $.
    Now, I'd hate to guess...

    Regards, Alberto
