This is a question out of curiosity, not something I’m really planning to do. I went to a drift event with a buddy who is big into drifting. Drifting is not really something that I have thought much about but I did enjoy the event. One participant drove a Porsche 718 and it made me wonder if one could drift a Mondial without breaking something?

Drifter cars have a complet different offset suspension, brake system and other.....you could ask a drift car driver what is needed to change all those things on a mondial.

For competition the cars are heavily modified, however this was an amateur event on a skid pad. There were a lot of true drift cars but I believe the Porsche, along with a few other cars, were stock or mostly stock. Of course you had the typical Dodge Charger/hellcat crowd.

I have drifted cars a bunch for film work related stuff. "Drift cars" are specifically set up to do just that, as others have said. But you can drift almost anything to a point.

The Mondial is a unique car that sits in between a pure sport car and a pure GT car. It is capable of much more spirited driving than most people think. Having said that, I break it loose all the time on hilly roads and whatnot, but I've never actually "drifted it". Personally I love a good 4 wheel track slide/drift, but I think that going around a parking lot until you crash stuff is for kids.
