Is anyone planning to do some car work like oil changes, brake system flushes, brake pad changes, car lowering, spark plug changes so we know if we need to bring extra tools, jacks and jack stands?

Kev's working like a dog at Fletcher Jones Newport Beach Audi now. He's trying to make up for lost time out of work last year. His Saturdays are gone for the near future.

As for work and tools I have all sorts of items, jacks, stands, etc.

Unfortunately no one earned it. With no actual work being dine, hatred to Stooge it up. I was waiting for someone to back into the bush on the way down the driveway, but all careful drivers this time. Vince is holding it for next time.

I've etched Mitchell's name on it just in case. You know, not if, but when. LOL

    Hi Guys!
I have been admiring all of you that live in SoCal and organize the Stooge Fest. I have always wanted to attend but I live in NorCal. I know you guys are the ones to ask when it comes to the 348. I have 1995 348 Spider. It has about 40K miles and have been sitting for the past 5 years. In that time it has been driven around 500 miles. Last engine out was over 10 yrs ago. I am getting ready to do the major engine out. I bought everything from Ricambi. My friend that did the last service over 10 years ago did not do the water pump and he asked if we should do it now? My question is does it need to be done? I don't see any water leaks under the car nor have I had any over heating issues? If I am going to do it, should I do the rebuild kit? buy just the new front part of the pump or a whole new pump? There is a big price difference. I value your input! I hope to attend one of your get togethers one day. Ray

Do it. A rebuilt one is fine. No question. Unless you are really confident, I wouldn't try to rebuild the WP myself.

After all this time get a new WP. The 348 WP is integral with the single timing belt. If you get a failure valves hit pistons = bad day. Buy the best WP you can get. You do not need a new WP body just the front with impeller bearing and housing. Get the pump from ricambi because he has the most reliable pumps. There are others but you sort through the chaf to find the good one. If a WP has a metal impeller get that one. When you get the new WP clearance check the impeller to WP body with clay. Some rebuilt WP'***** the pump body and destructo!

There are parts to rebuild the 355/456/555 WP and some others but I have not seen a kit to rebuild a 348 WP. Rebuild of WP is not hard but you have to know what you are doing. 355/456/550 WP kit seals are the worst I have ever encountered. They are super fragile and crack on install. Sometimes you do not know you cracked it until it leaks out the weep hole. We use a special tool (diy made or purchased) to seat these seals. No other car WP I have rebuild in nearly 50 years needs a special tool because other cars=...not cr@p!

And in the future NorCal guys drive down to Stoogefest all the time. Another Stoogefest is in the Fall at Peter's. Come join us. A couple ferraris over the years have broken along the way but made it to Stoogefest. We have always been able to fix them and get the drivers back on the road. We have garage space if one needs to stay here a week or so to get fixed. Making the drive to Stoogefest in your Ferrari seems to be a low risk journey.

No I am not mechanically inclined. I have a good friend helping me do the engine out service. We just got started on it yesterday. He told me that we did the engine out in 2011 and he still has the pictures. We looked at the belts and they still look pretty good. The only possible issues were the four coolant hoses (two on each side) that was not changed out in 2011. There is a little oil leak coming from the cam seals. So far we have not found any major issues fingers crossed. I live in the Sacramento area.
