Do not apologize for anything. I take all suggestions from everyone. these cars are funny cars to work on and Me also being Italian and been born there I personally think that engineering with the extenders was not needed. You don't need more issues added to an engine. should just been plugs and wires like the American cars. the extenders just add problems.

Has anyone replaced the speedometer sensor on the Ferrari 308 QV. Mine is acting up and it stopped working. I need to locate it on the engine and look at it before I replace it. Plus if I do replace it I want to look at if first and match it. Appreciate any help.

you positive on this location? I have the 1983 Ferrari 308 gts/ qv. It looks like it's right up against the chassis of the car. I don't recall seeing anything that low when I changed my alternator.

Mine is a 1980 GTSi NA, think it was an older style sensor but not sure when they changed them.

Yes, right side, by driveshaft. I added a couple more pics that might help, first one with the sender removed.

This video may help a bit too, though I think it’s a 2v he’s working on as well.

I just installed a new speedometer sensor in my 1983 Ferrari 308 GGS/QV and my speedometer still does not work. Does anyone know what else to look at or could it just be a faulty new sensor?

Crazy as it sounds I find the g box oil level has a factor in wether the sensor functions correctly.
So double check the gear box oil level .An overfill ( by adding a a cup ful or what ever for good measure after the level hole is plugged ) makes mine erratic .

Extra oil pressure finds it way up through the sensor seal and gets on the circuitry .It can be dismantled and dried out .

How would I check the gear box lever when the it's a closed system. I changed it a few months ago and as soon as it started coming out of the overfill plug i stopped and closed it off.

I know I did not overfill the gear box.

My gauges are very dim in nighttime driving. does anyone know how brighten them up so they visible at night. I don't think it's the bulbs because all the instruments are not bright from the dashboard down to the trans gauge and clock down by the shifter.

The common solution is to swap out the old bulbs with LED's and bypass the dimmer knob.

who carries the new led bulbs that will fit the Ferrari sockets? That sounds like a long and painful process, but it sounds like a winter project.

Have you given the dimming rheostat a few spins to try to "wipe" the brush and windings (and make sure it is turned to maximum)?

I am looking to remove my instrument cluster from my Ferrari 308 to replace all my instrument bulbs. Does anyone know how to remove the cluster or is there a video on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the four warning lights in each corner of the cluster. Using dental floss around the plastic crown can help to remove them without damage. There are four Phillips head screws behind the warning lamps

Does anyone know where I can find a new pipe or hose part number # 118293 it connects into the air plenum it's on the diagram with the air intake and fuel system diagram. I contacted my usual vendor they said it is no longer carried and neither Ferrari has it. I need to replace it I found a hole in it. Any help would be much appreciated.
