Overall spec is most important. Odd color combinations sell for lower prices and not quickly. You can order a yellow exterior with a blue interior, but many won’t like that combination, for example.
Exterior color choice mostly affects how quickly you can sell, but not necessarily price. I wanted a TdF Blu, for example, and it took me quite some time to find one in a spec I wanted, but I was willing to pay the same price as a red car with the same spec. More buyers typically are out there for red cars, so they will sell more quickly, but not necessarily for more. Of course if you are in a hurry to sell a non-red car, you will need to sell at a lower price.

As Jay Leno said.....if you like it there's a good chance someone else will. Oddball combinations did take some thought when they were built so, yeah and I like blue too.

I’m gonna say this , get the color combo you want NOT what has resale value. This life we have is short and not a dressed rehearsal. If you are that hung up on resale value don’t buy a Ferrari. I’ve lost money on every single one that I’ve owned , 6 and counting.

I have owned 6 Ferrari cars. Most would choose Rosa as the first I believe. Once that was out of my blood I choose Fly Yellow 2nd, then Blanco third, then Diamond Silver forth, back to Rosa 5th, now my 6th was another Blanco. With each I envisioned what I thought where attributes reflected to ea. model. The last a Blanco 15 Italia was heavily influenced a Beautiful Blond getting out of her Blanco/Red interior'ed race seated 14 Spider.

Apart from special colors, I don't think standard colors affect the second-hand value of the car very much.

Color is a choice based entirely on preference. For example, before I bought my Italia, I definitely did not want a red exterior color, because it attracts much more attention and many Ferrari models were generally available in red. Therefore, I chose the grigio silverstone exterior / cuio naturale interior upholstery combination. In my opinion, it looks much more stylish and high quality and I am very pleased with it.

What I mean is that the color combination is a completely personal preference and in my opinion, mileage, condition and proper maintenance history are more important factors in determining the second-hand value.

Anyone seen Nero opaco in person? It’s a matte black, not sure how it would do in resale as it’s very rare. I’m looking to purchase a 458 and came across one but not sure it’s better than pozzi or TDF.

I saw that color once in Europe. I'm sure it's a special color, but I personally wouldn't prefer matte colors. If you ask why, I think it makes the car look simpler or cheaper and it is not easy to adjust it when the paint maintenance or the car needs to be painted. You can research different metallic and classy colored vehicles. I also agree that matte black can be challenging when it comes to resale :)

Thank you for you opinion. Initially it looked nice but the more I look at it then more I agree. Not the best overall look to me.

Mattes are terrible. Not repairable. Can’t correct the finish. If you get one of those, IMMEDIATELY full PPF it. I always suggest to people that if you think you like how it looks, then just buy a gloss black car and do a full matte PPF on it… that way, you can enjoy it but can remove it.

Absolutely right. Matte colored cars are beautiful for others but painful for their owners :)

I love matte paint. Have had three cars with matte paint. One was a matte charcoal and the other two really stood out. Blu Aegus on my EVO and Green Hell Magno on my GTR. Always got complements and never had an issue with the paint. Why would anyone be worried to get a color they like because someone said it might be difficult to maintain or repair?

The blue does look nice— first matte finish I’ve ever seen that I can say I like (would still be nicer in gloss but..)

It goes from sapphire blue to a midnight blue and has a purple cast. A truly amazing color and I've seen a lot of colors over the years. To me matte paint looks better in overcast conditions because with sunlight it has a satin sheen to it which doesn't look bad. I just prefer overcast on matte paints. The Giallo Tre Strati on my 488 looks better in sunlight and really pops whereas in overcast it looks dull and flat. In my opinion in a gloss blue it would be just another good looking blue color. Nowhere near as unique like it is in matte.

One thing you can do to make all paints matte is use frosted PPF to wrap them. It makes the undercolor matte and provides PPF protection. Win/Win
