    I was getting the suspension error light on my 2000 360 Modena when my car would get to operating temperature. Eventually determined it was the vertical acceleration sensor however when I went to buy the sensor I was shocked to see the $1100 price tag at ricambi. so I was determined to find a cheaper solution and I was successful. The part number for the Modena is 232690. I found that many Maseratis use this same sensor with a different part number and there’s many on eBay for $25-50. I took the risk and it worked. The part even says Ferrari on it. Looks identical but labeled with a different part number. Part number for the one is use is 232082. I’m sure there’s plenty of others but pic attatched of the one that worked for me. Wasn’t a lot of Info on this as the sensor use to be pretty cheap so I figured I’d share to help anyone else having the issue save some coin. Install took a couple mins.     Nicely done! :) I want to say when mine went I even used a used part 8 or 10 years ago when I got the error message. Great to have another option! :)

    How did you figure out that it was the faulty sensor? Error code point to it as the source of the problem?

    Unfortunately the thinkdiag doesn’t read the suspension module for the 360 so it was purely based on the symptoms I was having. They were identical to others I read about that had confirmed it was the rear sensor and for $25 I was willing to make the bet. If I was gunna spend the $1100 I would have taken it somewhere who could read the suspension module [emoji23]

    I did the same thing and got a used one when mine went out. Think I paid 50 bucks, but back then the new part was only around $300. Before I installed it I I used silicone to seal it, since they typically fail due to the potting compound cracking and allowing moisture inside.

    Great that you found it, but they are actually not the same. The sensor you got, 232082 is a discontinued Maserati piece (superseded to 279398). Will the older Maserati thing work in your Ferrari 360? Maybe. Probably.

    That doesn't mean it's the correct part to use.

    ......... Firstly, it's been working on mine for close to 5 years now. I removed the OE part and keep it as a spare.
    Secondly, it's not only a 'Maserati thing'. It is stamped Ferrari on the body.

    Nice find. This is the type of research that we need to do. Sometimes I forget that a lot of the Ferrari parts are interchangeable between Maserati's, Alfa Romeo's and certain Fiat's

    If it was a museum worthy 360 or if it was a part that was integral in the performance or operation of the engine I’d be more open to this argument. Its stamped Ferrari. Gets rid of the error light. And is virtually free compared to the other option.

    I suspect that the original was prone to failure (as @RedNeck described) and Ferrari brought out a better version (like they did with thermocouple ECUs) for both the Maserati and Ferrari. At that price and assuming you don't drive your car in the rain too often, I think I would be tempted to fit that inferior, cheaper part, too.

    I got this when I tried the GM horn siren that I bought off ebay for 20 bucks back in 2010. It works or it doesn't.
