How do I know? By simply listening to his messages on the team radio or his public statements. If he wins, the world is great. If he loses, he blames the whole world (except himself).
This is laughable. Sir Lewis Hamilton is heard pushing and motivating the team countless times. His team mates talk about his work ethic. Show me where any of Mercedes team members say he is not a team player. Or are you just making this up. If a driver simply perform at a high level and put yourself in a position to win championships, that will motivate the team itself, without the driver saying a word. Lauda, Schumacher are drivers just like others, not motivational speakers. They need motivation at times as well You saying Lauda and Schumacher needed to be team players and become motivation speakers to win? Sir Lewis Hamilton can do it on talent alone.
If team members rely on the driver to motivate them, they shouldn't be working. The driver is hired to drive. And drive at a high level. This should already motivate them. The motivation part is a role for other members. Yes drivers can motivate too, as Sir Lewis Hamilton and Schumacher did. But the driving should motivate the team the most. Perez can motivate until the cows come home, but it won't go far without performing on track.
No other driver expresses gratitude and kudos to his team like Lewis. It’s literally the first thing he does after getting a podium, or second after thanking the fans.
Have a good laugh. We will see next year how good Lewis (excuse me, SIR Lewis) will be in motivating Ferrari and pushing them to new successes. An exceptional talent like him will succeed without any doubt where others (Alonso, Vettel, LeClerc) have failed?
Yes. Literally no other driver. When I watch the intervirews. Most drivers just answer the questions asked. Some do give thanks but not as much.
He's been there done that already with Merc. If he does for Ferrari, do you already have your next excuse prepared?
No. I have zero faith in Hamilton, but if he becomes World Champion for Ferrari I will eat humble pie. What about you when he fails? BTW: You forgot to mention that he also single handedly made champions of McLaren......
I'm not an excuse type of guy. If Sir Lewis Hamilton doesn't become champion with Ferrari, it won't take anything away. To me he has nothing left to prove. Alonso, Vettel couldn't become champions with Ferrari, I dont look at them different.
Well it would be absolutely outstanding if Hamilton win his 8th title with the Scuderia. The cherry on the cake..
Indeed Listening to Lauda on the team radio, during the race, inspiring the troops… Oh wait It’s so cool that so many here have had such deep level access to the Ferrari F1 team inner workings…for 5+ decades
Taking a detail of an earlier response (post 9351) completely out of its context (it was a remark on Hamilton) into a mocking response. Brilliant!!!
Since I don't see F1 through rose-tinted glasses, nor believe in miracles, I still think it's very unlikely. I could change my opinion if I see Ferrari churning out a dominant car, and Hamilton winning a couple of GPs to prove it. But first, Hamilton will have to adapt to the team, their method of working, their way of doing things, etc, etc,, Also, let's not forget that Charles Leclerc, who will be in his 6th year at the Scuderia, will be defending his position too. I rather see Hamilton doing a "Schumacher" who signed for 3 years at Mercedes and damaged his reputation achieving nothing there.
Lmao, uh did you not see Lewis trying to pass George at the end? He couldn’t do it and he was on much newer tires. Also, since when is taking a risk on a different strategy a bad thing? He took a calculated risk and it paid off. That’s racing. Well, at least it used To be. What is it with Lewis fans and their mental gymnastics? They are all over social media this morning bashing George. Are they that myopic? They are all livid that George didn’t move over for Lewis and are convinced the disqualification is karma. I get being a fan but that doesn’t mean it’s ok to blindly disconnect from reality. It’s like a cult.
Actually the “cult” is those (like you) who can never bring themselves to just give Hamilton credit. It’s always: “Sure, he drove well…BUT” Good for George, he saved himself 20+ seconds by not doing a 2nd pit stop, led the race without passing a single car, and still, all for naught. Hamilton dominated the race. If George does 2 stops, he wouldn’t have been in the same zipcode. And all the teeth gnashing in the world by the “cult” won’t change who won the race.
Wrong. Go back and you’ll see I praised Hamilton for his last win with zero “buts”. I may not be a fan but I give credit where it’s due. Your emotional bias towards Lewis clouds your judgement. You clearly just can’t bring yourself to admit George took a ballsy gamble and did an excellent job holding off Lewis for the win. That is racing, sometimes the win doesn’t always go to the fastest, most consistent driver. Lucky for Lewis (and everyone in the top 5) if George had a cool down lap he would have picked up enough rubber to have not been underweight. Lewis benefited yesterday and got the win but to imply that George didn’t do as well or deserve it is just blind fan boy logic or lack of racing knowledge IMO. “Deserve” has got absolutely nothing to do with racing.
That's not the only ballsy move Russell has done. He's done before in the past. Most of the time it pays off. I believe once where it didn't. There's a difference between Russell and Hamilton when it comes to tire strat. calls. Russell, at times, makes his own ballsy calls. Hamilton relies on Bono and when he feels the team makes the wrong tire strat. call, he's not at all happy about it.
When you’re in 6th place “ballsy” calls aren’t really all that that ballsy. George did a great job, no arguments. I thought Lewis was gonna pass him but as Oscar said dirty air made a big difference.
You need .8 or better in closure to pass now. Dirty air is back to 2021 levels if not worse. DRS trains were the norm and have been this entire season. To pass yesterday .6 was not enough as LH showed lol.
Which in itself is remarkable as these ground effect cars were designed to allow more overtaking. BTW this was valid for all drivers, e.g. Max could not pass Leclerc for the same reason
