    Ok, ok.

We all know that these particular cars are incredibly faithful reproductions. That said, on what PLANET does this estimated result make sense?!

I’m sorry, but there is no way this sells for anywhere near the bottom of the range.

Boy, if it does that would set a precedent and everyone will start building "replica's". Now would that (if it were to happen) push the price for the originals up or down?

I just watched a YouTube video where Paul Newmans Rolex sold for $15 million at an auction, soooo maybe?

Some would say the same thing about a resto-mod until you were stuck in 100f heat on the 405 freeway in Los Angeles and get to enjoy clean cabin air, and you can flip on ice cold A/C while listening to audio perfection. On the other hand sweltering in the heat smelling rich exhaust from your carburetors listening to 8 track tapes does have a certain je ne sais quoi.

Its just money.... some people can blow this just to have it and be seen in it. Maybe some influencer.

What would be funny is 2 seconds after the gavel hits Ferrari comes in, confiscates it, and sends it to a crusher.

I can see a separate section in Fchat in the future: Reproduction thread.

People will argue about what was the original color -- of the reproduction -- to repaint it back to its original "factory specs". Or how much the value is diminished if the bumper gets repainted. Or complain about how many miles the mechanic test drove it. Or worry if they should valet or self park. 1st world problems for a reproduction Ferrari.

It needs to be like Enzo would have made it, if he made it.

Glickenhaus will rescue it from the crusher.

The price may seem high, but you have to realize it's an ORIGINAL reproduction.

    "Revival"...

I built a few ("budget" and so called toolroom) replicas and cars in my life and know the cost based on a BOM. If GTO Engineering uses a €300.000 250 GTE as a basis for a 250 GTO and spend $200.000 on the rest, it's a typical 100% markup after. I don't know what they used for this one as a basis.

I wish the seller good luck.

I think a Cal Spider is the sexeist car in the world. Can I afford to buy one? NFW. Would I buy an affordable replica? In a heartbeat.

It’s fake though, if you can’t get the real thing just forget about it and be happy with the authentic Ferraris that you can get

I can envision a few possible buyers.

Someone who has always wanted one, but realizes they will never be wealthy enough to buy a real one, but can afford low 7 figures.

Someone who has a real one but doesnt want to drive it. They are obviously stupid rich so buys this for giggles.

Price aside, what are you even talking about? This is one of the most respected automotive outfits on the planet. Lame.

I don’t know for that kind of money I would buy another Ferrari not a replica. I don’t care how good it looks it’s still a fake. For that money you could get a F40 or Enzo.

My mates in Cape Town built an ally copy on a BMW Z4. Perhaps a bit on the "budget" side, but it was easily registered as a BMW Z4 "Special".

There’s a fine line between a well-done reproduction and the real deal, and the price can make or break the perception. However, the sheer craftsmanship involved in these reproductions cannot be overlooked.

I'm well pass the point of caring what people think of me or the cars I drive. In fact, the only reason I would buy a Ferrari today is the relative driving experience, i.e., a Maranello versus a Porsche Turbo S. The Turbo S is a helluva car, but it is not the same experience as a gated Maranello.

The buyer for this car probably already has those cars. This would be an in-addition-to

Building a faithful reproduction takes time, money and skills. It often results in a great car. But…it is still a replica, not the original model. Therefore about $3 million is ridiculous in my opinion. But when someone has money to burn (and many have that kind of money here and around the world), anything is possible…

I own a Cal Spider ;), you can have one too. It’s gorgeous from all sides, it’s luxurious, it handles very well and is fast (especially with the HS package) and is more affordable (Cali30 2013, the modern Cal Spider) :). I also own the original Cal Spider in 1:43
