Odd, how about a 95 355 that came with 348 heads? They only made that mistake once and was on a Challenge model :)

I don't mean to sound like an idiot, but to what qualities are you referring to? The wide "hips" on the Canadian market car? Or the ventilation holes? Because I can remember a discussion on here before-I believe there is no rhyme or reason to the holes. Some cars have them and some do not. That's Ferrari for you.

I'll update this thread with a couple of F355 Challenge oddities. I already mentioned my yellowing rear badge...

I don't mind that at all. The plastic inserts are beginning to match the color of my car. :D

When Ferrari N.A. was developing my car in early 1995, they experimented with this prototype Challenge muffler with three exhaust tips...

They scrapped that design when they saw the lateral exhaust tips were burning the paint on the bumper. And so the Challenge silencer was developed...

ROW 355’s pretty much have the same rear bumper between 95-99. No side reflectors, wide recessed license plate surround with rounder edges, slotted vents.

In the U.S, the 95 rear bumper (carried thru early 96) have a different design than 96-99 355’s. Narrow recessed license plate surround with sharper/straighter edges and no slotted vents. All have side reflectors.

A 95 355 owner recently got his rear bumper tapped, purchased from Eurospares a brand new OE rear bumper supposedly designated as “U.S Spec” for roughly $6-7k shipped. He received what looks to be a 95 U.S spec rear bumper, but there is no recessed area to install side reflectors! This isn’t how it’s supposed to be. Imo, this bumper shouldn’t exist.

His bumper happens to be exactly the same as the bumper on Ebay being sold by Ferrparts as a euro bumper… only he paid 2x more lol.

    What does this all mean???

Well. If this is what Ferrari is sending out to the U.S market to replace 95 bumpers, make sure no ever hits you from behind because our 95 rear bumpers are worth gold.

Makes you wonder what will the Classiche department due if an early F355 were to be restored….far too many one off parts that are obsoleted

One thing which is also very strange is that the car radio is powered by a permanent positive and not after contact, for the dizzy, guaranteed battery failure
