I have to replace the engine filter on the 458. Scuderia has the filter for about 130, so it almost makes sense to get a BMC filter since you can wash it and reoil it for only twice the price. Any thoughts against that?

I installed a BMC 2 years ago and still haven't had to oil it. it "seems" like it fits a little more snug, but then again, i changed the filter box to a Ferrari CF one at the same time and i think it fits a little different as its much thinner than the plastic one. The BMC filter seems to have a much better seal but it could be in my head. All in all, no issues with this filter and my dealer said they are great to boot.

I ended up getting the OEM one, as I found a different part number that was around $80 dollars so that worked. I did this a few hours after I posted, although now kind of wished I got the BMC

I saw the car in person — the bodywork is excellent, with tight and consistent panel gaps that surpass those on most Lambos and even many OEM Ferraris. It has the original racing fuel fillers and center-lock wheels, and the interior looks fantastic as well. I think it’s a very well-executed conversion.
