It is the Ferrari system in Maranello that accepts the order and then tracks the production status , search Ferrari production codes and you will find a list here on Ferrari chat

I got picture number 3 on 29th July, I was actually at the factory on 26th and then did Corso Pilota at Maranello (expensive but one of the best experiences I have ever had) but I must have missed the car whilst on the factory tour. Anyway, dealer called me yesterday that car is here. Our dealer is really very nice and although this is my first Ferrari, we have purchased several other marques from them ( H R Owen) in London, UK and they ran the extra mile getting me the allocation in November 2023 (expression of interest payment was made I think about August 2023 but I was on the fence since the event that the dealer invited us to in 2022 and completely got besotted with the 296) - I will take delivery in the next few weeks when I am in London for a while but it’s here and I feel very fortunate that mine took less time that expected. Originally delivery was scheduled for November 2024 as an early 60th birthday present from me to me with ❤️ . Also shipment to UK is quicker than shipment to USA.

Interestingly enough our 296 GTS has arrived at our dealer, however still no photos in our app, it even still says "waiting list"... any ideas if we will ever receive our production photos?

There no rhyme or reason to the timing of the photos . My car is at status 60 and I got my second photo after that .

The dealer is the only person who can tell you where the car is .

The post purchase experience is not as anticipated. There were smears on pax window and also on driver but less so. Car with dealer to sort. Ferrari are not an easy company when it comes to warranty claims, as I have discovered. Pity. Maserati have been excellent by comparison and I am quite surprised because until they get your money, it’s a delightful experience and you get the box and the magazine and start to feel like you are a small part of an amazing story. Every other high ticket car our family have owned (most bought through same blanket dealership) had more proactive relationship with the manufacturers, I am talking several Rolls-Royce (before they became Volkswagens) and a few Bentleys (before the became BMWS) and a few others I have forgotten. It’s quite shocking how, as someone on this chat put it, Ferrari has one way telephone lines. I doubt that the founder would have been happy with that but hey it’s all about making the investors happy now and once you have the clients money, he’s your b****h. Not the fault of the dealer. It’s Ferrari who don’t care, so it seems to me but this is my first time experience with Ferrari and whilst I love the car, I am disappointed by the lack of quality control and also the rather daft steering wheel control which everyone has agreed, is crap!

It is actually the other way around. BMW acquired Rolls and VW acquired Bentley. In all honesty, they are much better cars now that the Germans own them.

Enzo despised his road car customers and would casually mock them. That is what lead to the creation of Lamborghini cars after all.

I am not sure I agree regarding Rolls and Bentley. The charm has gone. They make SUVs! But to each their own, I guess, we agree to disagree.

it seems Enzo’s contempt for his paying customers is alive and well…I had no idea. The whole process was like a fairytale, with magazines arriving and the lovely box plus invitations to exclusive events, capped by Corso Pilota. The delivery experience too was rather special. Never mind, at least the car is fab, despite these issues. I have grown rather fond of it and miss it…

Don’t know much about Lamborghini but are they not in reality Audis with a frock on?

I understand what you are talking about and I agree that they had this old world charm. Objectively though they were obsolete. Nowadays they are modern motorcars with state of the art technology, instead of 50 year old engines and 3 speed gearboxes. Especially Bentleys are performance monsters now.

Not really, or let us say, up to point. The V12s never had anything to do with Audi, apart from the odd switchgear, or an infotainment system. Mechanically they were and still are 100% Lamborghini. The V10s shared some things with Audi (the R8), but the engine was a Lamborghini design (manufactured in a VAG factory in Hungary for the past few years) and they were fettled in house, giving them a totally different character to the R8. The new Temerario is also Lambo's own in house development, as this time there won't be a corresponding Audi. The Urus is indeed a modified Cayenne/Bentayga/Q8, but with a totally different calibration and character.

PS: I am really to sorry to read about your problems with Ferrari. I hope you are offered a satisfactory solution as soon as possible!

Fair and thanks for adding to my limited knowledge. Yes when we had the Flying Spur (dressed up Phaeton) - it was a beast of a car compared to the Silver Spirit or even the good old Silver Shadow. The new Rollers are not my thing.

thanks. I still have faith that we will get there with the Ferrari. The Maserati management, when I had an issue early on (back in 2011
Or 2012) sent a whole team over to H. R. Owen and wanted to and did solve the problem. The QPS is still my daily car and still a pleasure to drive but after the 296, it feels underpowered. The ride comfort is enjoyable, especially after a a few hours behind the wheel of the 296.

Does anyone have a suspicion that the 1st body in white photos are just generic pictures and not actually of their car. If have just had my first photo, and it is identical to ones earlier in this thread, down to drips of stuff on the floor, to the one in this picture?

Mine was taken from front on , but lets face it they all look the same in primer and a pic in the app is no indication of progress. My car left Italy on a vessel in the last few days of November , it is now in another port on the way to me and I still do not have the final pic . I will probably get it after the car , as for the model of the car well that may turn up as this years present from Santa !
