I immediately took it as deadpan humor. Eric C is a good guy in my opinion.

If Eric C keeps it up we may even see him here as a Mod someday.

    So, another $18,000 transmission failure.

Not a good sign for F8's.

458/488/F8 along with other brands use the same transmission so we all could be affected. I have warranty on my F8. I let my 488 warranty lapse though..self fund warranty issues.

Guys, no car manufacturer or brand is immune to premature failure. The 458s have a Getrag transmission, the posters here are staring it is the same as the 488 and F8 (possible, I don’t know).

Every car has its weak points. I have a 2023 Porsche 992 Cup this car is specifically made for the track. The service intervals for the transmission and engine are insanely short (60 and 100 hours, respectively).

Now I find out the transmission shift actuator, a known weak point, should also be rebuilt at 60 hours also.

It is a $14.5 k part and needs to go back to Megaline in Germany for refurb…..

To put it in perspective, I racked up over 100 trouble free hours on the 458 Challenge Evo in a year of track use……

    Yeah, I still like Ferrari.

Correct... Porsche has had issues as well with brakes and engines with various street car models. Correct nothing is perfect and Ferrari has become better for sure over the years but so have others as well.
