It is my understanding that they have a small percentage of deviation/error that they are allowed. Now, Ferrari and other manufacturers declare dry weight, which can vary more than 100 kg compared to wet (DIN) weight and then on top of that there is EU kerb weight with a driver and luggage. So it's not that they are lying per se, but just use different interpretations of the measurement. It was actually a factory car at Fiorano; plenty of people around. As you can imagine, it must have been at the lightest possible configuration. Will try to find a pic.
Hybridisation and the need for aero surfaces. The GMA cars are not bothered with those things. If we were to compare the F250 with a recent hypercar, that would be the Valkyrie, to which it is closer in ethos.
Agreed. Valkyrie claimed weight is 2,800 lbs dry/3,000 wet. Hopefully the F250 can achieve that with the smaller V6.
So you are saying Ferrari pulled the scales out at Fiorano to show everyone there how much heavier their car was than they claimed all over the world press? Interesting, that's a first .... Please find this picture,....
T50 is only show and display in US, isn’t it? Homologation means weight. 3 seat is great once you sit in. In and out is not great. Also, you can only do certain things when you can not use all the parts from the manufacturers. You have to make them. SCM is really hard without paying alot for bespoke parts. This is why all Pagani and Koniggesseggg and GMA shares same philosophy. Stripped out and artistic and handmade parts all over. Easy and much cheaper than paying for parts. ADAS and soon to be mandatory Active brake and all that is out of window from the beginning. I am not saying they are bad. I am just saying lets compare fully homologated cars side by side when we criticize the F250. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I have a very simple solution for you. Very cost-effective. Don’t buy any product you don’t like. If we all do the same, Ferrari will either be right or wrong and then they’ll get what’s coming to them. Most likely more profits but if you’re right and they’re not building cars that are best for them, then they won’t get that. No worrying needed see? As for the SF90, it’s easy to see why they went that direction. Hybrid was a way to keep the power going up (per the market requirement) and the emissions going down (per the regulators). As for the car itself, I’m glad it exists. It adds something to our garage that wasn’t there before, whereas all the other bases were pretty much all covered. Definitely an expensive car to own because some of the market certainly thinks like you do and are hesitant about these new hybrids, meaning weaker residuals presently. Fair enough. It’ll change is my guess but we’ll see. We’re doing a road trip again this October. For the third time in three years it’s the SF90 that I’ll pick up the keys to. Not GT3 RS, not GT4 RS, not Pista, not Speciale, not 812 SF or Comp, not any of the older cars like Testarossa. The SF90 will be the most thrilling car around Italy. And we’ve even worked out how to get a week’s worth of luggage into an SF90 Spider!
At the F40 launch someone said to Enzo where does the spare tire go? He relied, if you are rich enough to buy one, you are rich enough to have your pilot fly one out. Same goes for Luggage now
Little rude btw to think a member who has basically 20 years does not know what under the front hood on an F40. Well I was told the story in 1988. Nope no tire in there. However a few clients may have done later themselves wasn't factory standard option from memory. Never seen one other than a mock up of a space saver in there. empty or like this was the normal if I recall. Luggage is very rare now Image Unavailable, Please Login
The emoji faces were trying to show i was joking, as he irony we all know is that F40's have a space for a spare, but don't carry one.
I went thought my F40 OEM and only talks about or shows that area for the Battery and filters etc no other data or images in there about the front boot
Two made to measure suit carriers behind the seats, made to measure suitcase for front trunk (decently large when you include the added space below the bonnet), a roll bag below passenger knees - makes things more comfortable - and a smaller bag between the seats. All specifically made in nice leather, £1,500 for all of it.
The front boot space is bigger than people realise because of the curvature of the bonnet. Also, the area behind the seats at the higher level is large and can fit a decent size hold-all on each side. I did the Mille Miglia 2022 5 days in Italy no problem in the SF90. I agree… and this is how I imagine some of the details will look like when the camo is removed: Image Unavailable, Please Login
