One year we stayed in camp/ hotel just south of the turn around location on Highway 1 and was an interesting spot and way to see all the cars. Do they run the same route every year?

Had a deal on the table to buy Concorso from Jack Wadsworth back around 2008/09. We were going to bring it into the fold with our Pocono and Daytona events. Often wonder how things would have turned out if it came together. Oh well maybe in an alternative universe.

Very nice event this year. I have already seem a lot of those actual cars before, but some nice new ones on show. I was at the Maserati event in 2000 and it had a few even more interesting cars on display. The 420M58 and the birdcages at the 2000 Laguna Seca event made it special, plus the Boomerang and many others. But I am more of a race car guy, the reason Maserati even exists!!

    Ahhh the Bertone 3500.....

One of my all time favorite 3500 Maseratis, I think remember seeing it at Mr. Mandarano's in the late 80's...still looks the same ...lovely car.

Thanks Ivan for taking and posting the great pictures. It was really good to see you again at both events . Somehow I never get the pictures and or the quality you do. I had spent a lot of time with the restoration of the off white Mistral so was really glad to see it get 2nd in class. Since I have 2 Mistrals that are early and original unrestored cars we were able to get the details right. This car was an early car with some one off details and looked great on the field

Well at least they had 1 Khamsin there but no Bora or Merak how is that even possible? No 5000GT either ...

Well it is certain that 5000GT's were invited but none could come.

Same for the Mexico Frua prototype AM112/1-003 (photo below) I found in Spain in 2013. I brokered it to a Belgian collector who won best of show with it at the official Maserati 100th anniversary the following year. I then drove it for an Octane article in 2015.

It is now owned by a Parisian. Philippe L.

Early this year I was contacted by the Pebble Beach organizers since they wanted the car and had no contact info for the owner. I spoke to him but he had zero interest in shipping it all the way to the US, in fact he is ready to sell it, it was in fact displayed at Retromobile this February.

Other people tried to find a buyer for it in time for Pebble but no go.

As to 70's GT cars Boras and Meraks have had a lot of attention whereas in sharp and wrong contrast Khamsins have time and again not had the attention they deserve so it was very positive to have one at Pebble for the first time.

Here another photo of AM120US1236 by Mark Janssen, Oldtimer Australia.

I don't think a Bora or Merak has ever been displayed at Pebble. Plenty at Concourso over the years back when it was still a major well run event ... time moves on though.
I can think of one very nice and original Merak that probably should have been there, George Andreini's. I don't know if he was asked? We saw him and Bobbi at the Pismo Beach event in May but the topic didn't come up.

The fact that take place the near each other and the same week is not the point.

Concorso is and was a local, maybe national show, even at its height. Pebble is a world wide reference with cars coming from all over the world, not the same thing at all in terms of significance.

Where and when did I say that? It grew way too big for Quail lodge then we got The Quail. That and greed were the Concourso killers.
