I do not know of any off shelf spray can paint that is a close match.

It's held up very well. The clear makes it easy to clear w/o absorbing oils and such like most flat finishes do.

Here is a shot of the center instrument bezel that I refinished. Below it, the radio surround is a new, OEM Ferrari piece that has the OEM soft touch finish. (I'm just holding in in place for comparison. I have a Ferrari OEM radio that I bought it for). You can draw your own conclusion regarding the match to the OEM finish. But w/o the matte clear it would be too glossy.

Thanks so much, indeed on this picture it's impossible to tell the difference. Very interesting!

Hi John so just to make sure.. are these the two cans you've been using to achieve this result?

Yes, that is what I used on the switches and door handles. However, I went back and checked my notes and what I used on the vents and interment cluster was Rest-oleum High Heat Ultra and the matte clear. The High Heat Ultra is a little grayer. Sorry for the confusion, but I did this several years ago.

For arrows on the vents I bought the stick-on ones from Stickynomore. They come on a black background which is larger than the arrows so I trimmed them down to the outline of the arrows. The only black left was the black between the lines on the arrow's shaft. Like this. I placed the arrows on the vents before applying the clear. That way you can not tell they are stick-on unless you are right on top of them.

Also, I would recommend doing some test spray outs to see how the paint lays down.

Hard to see the cut lines, but the ones we sell are peel and stick, already cut out to exact size.

Not to make an issue of it. I was glad to get them from you. But this is what I did.

Here you can see how I cut out the arrows.

Here you can see the cut lines you speak of. They leave a little black surrounding the arrow, and you can see how much black I removed from the stick-on.

And here is one of my finished vents.

Bottom line, I'm happy with the result. Trimming the arrows with a sharp exacto-knife was not difficult.

Tamiya is the closest you come to original, i can't see the difference.

    Used these

    TAM87042 Surface primer
    TAM85006 Matte Black
    TAM85080 Flat clear

The black matched the color paint we used at that time, so we just peeled and stick them, the black decal matched the paint color after we cleared them, so we never had to cut them out, it all blended well. The new ones we use are much better design, we have improved them over the years.
