    Hi!
Tried using launch control yesterday, worked fine but I didn’t launch it, I just took my foot of the throttle and the red gearbox light came out on the dash, it’s been there eversince (48 hours) drove the car a lot since then, and changes all gears perfectly fine in manual and auto as well, even reverse is perfect, absolutely 0 problems, anyone know why this light came on? And how do I get rid of it ?
    Thanks

I would suggest the best thing to do would be to get it plugged in so can be checked and cleared. However if that is a problem you could try disconnecting the battery for 10mins and then reconnect. Keep in mind there will be faults etc that come but but should go away after driving

Launch control is always a bad idea as it is unnecessary effort for gearbox.

I never used it in my 458S

I’ve never used it in any of my cars either… seems abusive

If I would’ve taken my foot off the break, it would’ve launched.
But I just took my foot off the accelerator instead to cancel it.

Use it in the Porsche. It’ll be just fine.

I tried to ask those jerks on Rennlist how to do it and no matter what question you ask over there, they tell you to google, Wikipedia, YouTube or research on my own. I’m like ya, that’s what I’m doing by joining a car forum; that’s what it’s for. If I wanted to quietly research things on my own, I wouldn’t join a forum… anyway, I quit that site so I never found out if my car even has a ‘launch control’ feature.

You literally gave your car blue balls. There's only one way to fix this.

It sounds to me like the car just glitched. I'm 90% sure that a battery reset would fix it..

I haven't been on Rennlist in a long time...years...but I have something like over 12,000 posts there. It seems to have changed I've heard. Anyway, you do a PDK launch just like you do in a Ferrari. Foot on brake, car in Sport Plus for Porsche or Race for Ferrari and push the throttle all the way, if it is a Turbo car let it sit an extra couple seconds to build boost and release the brake and keep the throttle floored.

Since I only have a right leg I had to heel and toe to do this. Not exactly accurate or easy with a big foot crammed on the brake and accelerator. I only did PDK launches a few times at a drag strip. I am more of a road course guy so I never used launch control in my Porsche's and never did it in the 488 I had.

Thanks buddy— the F8 is different though that I need to hit the PS button at some point. Not sure when but I assume hit that first, and THEN do the brake/gas thing right? There’s no button on Porsche so it’s just brake, gas, hold, release right?
