I had just finished a 45 min. drive with my 430F1 and was in my driveway. I placed the car in neutral and once after a few seconds the "N" was blinking. I've never seen this before. any ideas?

Flashing 'N' with no other warning lights is a bit unusual. Are you sure you didn't inadvertently miss the Transmission Warning light located on the upper left side in the circular cluster which appears like a box with the lid open? Did you experience any harsher gear engagement or disengagement while driving? Another possibility is that either your transmission fluid level is low and or the attitude in which your car was in when you put it in 'N' caused the fluid level to dip below the minimum mark.

I did a Google search on "Ferrari Blinking N" and found a 355 reference to the same issue:

    The relevant text is:

"I pull the car in and check the F355, and nothing is leaking. Awesome. The F355 is turning into a dependable track car. As we are leaving to go home, I try to start the car, but the "N" neutral light for the F1 tranny is blinking, like it is an error code. Uh oh....car won't start. There is nothing in the manual for a blinking "N" light. Wayne grabs a guy supporting one of the F355 Challenge cars, and he looks at it, and says that the tranny is locked up. He rocks the car back and forth, turns the key on and pulls on the F1 paddle for about 20 seconds, and then the tranny finally shifts. He puts it into neutral, and now the car fires up again. Whew! That was a close one."

Did you try to drive the car after seeing the blinking "N"?

The car is not properly in Neutral. We have seen this on several 430, usually early models. Every one has required recentering of the gearbox actuator. this generally occured in reverse on a hot (normal operating temperature) Gearbox but it could happen in any gear. I suggest having the dealer perform a grid calculation and confirm the gearbox needs centering.

Just out of curiosity, did you turn the car off and have the door open?? Could it have been a warning that you were leaving the vehicle without leaving it in gear so it wouldn't roll??
