    Wade,

I thought I saw something posted by Keith Gustafson that he was providing a pigtail connector to extend the power cable for these applications. You might want to contact him to find out:

He's a very nice guy and very helpful. I had shipped him the original starter from my 308 and he used that as a template to make up the adapter plates for the 308/328 cars. He is really good about working with us as customers. Quality guy and a quality product.

Joe, thanks for the offer but I took advantage of the holidays and swapped it out already...

The job was a lot easier than I expected: 3 mount bolts (accessed through the right wheel well) and three wires (one clip-on and the other two on the same post). Both starters felt like they weighed the same.

I still need to do a few more test drives and then add the final picture.

Fortunately, the cable was long enough. All I had to do was reroute it a bit.

Does this apply to a 308 QV as well? Thanks.

    Cheers

For the life of me I cannot remember if the wheelwells on a 308 are removable like the Mondial's. If so then it should be almost exactly the same. Hopefully an experianced 308 owner/tech will provide some tips.

The wheel liners pop out. However, I think you'd have to have some seriously long arms to get to it. Use jack stands or a lift.

Corbani (RIP) over in the Dino section has a write-up about solenoid problems on his 246 coupe. He was going through solenoids way too often and ended up putting a flashback diode on the ignition switch which kept the solenoid contacts from burning up. Interesting read with pictures.

They are removeable...I'm not sure you need to pull them though, I think I just reached up from the bottom.

I just went to trun over my 1.5 year project engine over and it was dead. TO my delight I realized the starter was too new looking and it was one of these "ferrari starter" aftermarket ones.

I called dave and he was super nice and said 3 days back to me. Im sure its the solenoid as I did a bench test directly to starter and solenoid and did hear any click or anything. Im assuming the plunger is stuck from sitting?

Anyway, call Dave if you need one and rest assured the warranty is haggle free and he was great!

Hi gang, looks like the starter has gone on my QV - I needed a push start leaving Retro Rides the other weekend. Do we have a part # for the hi-torque replacement? I'm in the UK.
